Sounds like a very clever idea to me too - I'd never have thought of that.

It's funny though as I just had a PM from BHW user "deancho" asking me how
much I'd pay him for him to tell me how to get around the 21 day hold.

I wonder if anyone else has had a PM from the same guy. And for your info
deancho, if you want to share something here then post it in the thread,
if you want to sell something to another user then post that in the right
section of the forum rather than being underhand via PM.

Thank you! Wat about if it wasn't a buy it now auction, but the auction has already ended and they have already sent their money?

I've got about 250 bucks sitting in my pending account right now that I NEED in order to send the buyers their product! lol
 
You're all welcome, ebay selling is hard enough as it is without paypal making further hurdles. Theres probably other ways as well, basically whenever the buyer pays not via ebays checkout will avoid the hold, since paypal doesnt know its linked to an auction.

I have a concern about marking as payment sent. A well informed buyer will see this on his account and could demand the item sold for free. That would be my main question with the method laid out.

Unnecessary worrying there - it wouldn't be an issue.

'I clicked the button by accident' would more than suffice - also bear in mind that ebay would be able to see that you did it within moments of the listing end - it would be impossible to pay that fast, except perhaps with Paypal, naturally...
