So, here we go. As I am today a bit lazy to focus on the usual "ranking pages and shit", building links, spying on competition, and checking my amazon affiliate earnings, I decided to write a quick posts for you dudes.

    tldr:
build a brand, make some authority site, dont use those "5 pages affiliate sites".

the "golden days" of 2011-2013 are long gone. even in .de. During that, just register some EMD of you prefered niche, put a few directory links on it, wait for 4 weeks, start banking.
That worked nicely in 2011-2012. Had some nice clickbank ebook I was promoted for 3 digits per months, on one some "5 article thin concent affiliate sites" . It worked.

So, I always had like 5 "thin sites" in top 10, and my main smaller authority site.

Well, I played with GSA SER a bit later and as we all know, that late 2012 G Update fucked up everything.

That time, there was no "real advice out there" to help restore those sites.
    AND
I went into youtube big time. As "ranking sites" is kind of work for me, YT is kind of sitting in the pool and watching videos go to #1. If you dont do shit in the usual "prank & hack niche", you can easily cash instantly. If you scale that up, well, you get the gist of it.

"Why focus on that whole backlinking shabang,", "while create 1000 words articles spending 2 hours writing, when I can pump out 10 great reviews and get them to #1 in one day.."

So, I was doing YT for 4 years now.. But, all this, gets to a hold sometimes. You cant do a 37th "Iphone 7 Review", so, all those review channels came to a hold.

I cleaned then up last year, found some "easiy new niches" in that process, I want to milk this year a bit more.

But, in late 2016 I thought "Well, what to do with all those tanked sites?"
-> use them as pet projects. So, I did some studies, like: link pyramids, 301 redirects from expired domains, freeblog link pyramids, PBN posts, phrase, exact match, URL anchors, and all that shabang to get a feeling back again.

But, If a site gets revived for a 15k native language kewyord from #150 > #20, you STILL DONT GET FKN traffic :/

and as those sites were in the "how to lose weight " or "how to eat healthy niche" (I was 60 pounds overweight that time before I learned about nutrition), I was never any "buying keyword" in those articles.

"I am done with it", SEO IS DEAD.

So, I took the content > to main page /
301 the old sites with all sub pages to > main page /

So far, it was approx 20000 Words of old content ;) .
I think, about 150 RDs will now point to the main site.

So, far it looks promising. Doubled an trippled the traffic to the main site.

I did the same for some old freeblogs, I created in 2013 and "spammed them a bit with blog comments". They were just left untouched, so I recycled them to some major review site.

Looking back on all those years and the situation now: If I would do it again, I would start the authority way and not the "small subniches". It's kind of PITA to create links, domains, check serps, for 1-2k keywords...
So, now, I concentrate a ton.

About the 301 of those old domains.. I thought about recycling them as PBN, too. Maybe, I will, maybe not. ATM, I just recycle the link juice of them. Though, they never got any traffic after the 2012-2013 "purge", they still hold some small UR/DR/RD...

If you got any questions, please ask. I try to help you with it.

Again SEO is dead thread ;)
But you are right, why to not build one authority site instead of hundreds shitty mini pages in mini niches? :)

    My current job:
    -nootropic niche
    -android developers niche
-one of dog breeds in USA niche
    ...

and you know what? Even if SEO will punish me, second purge, etc. I will be proud that I have valuable websites and engagement. Building email lists, brand, etc. even google punish, I still will have a revenue.

People here don't want to work, they prefer to spam huge amount of microsites for CPA. Eating just a piece of that cake. Why to not build websites with own products for sell and use Amazon and CPA only for additional revenue?
Harder? Yes? You are writing about 2012, in 5 years you would be an expert in your niche with own products, authority and huge mailing list ;)

the time invested is not worth it. Kind of annoys me to watch several 50-100 volume keywords in ranking.. and it distracts me from my usual work.

I am not against "micro niches", sure, they work.

but if I would chose between
    "besttoiletcleaner.com"
    "toiletseatcomparison.org"
    "draincleaner2017.net"

    I would create a "doityourselfdude.com" ..
