    Hi Guys,

I?m from India & I?d like to introduce about me that I?m learning & doing SEO, somewhat doing well. Coming to the point I had joined a link building company and built a a lot of links, then started my own link building work and earned a lot. Then panda came everything was crashed. Somehow I managed myself and kept working earning. Then I thought I should a learn SEO fully Now I?ve learned (I can say good) a lot I?m working for client earning 1000$ a month from them. I started reading this forum and get idea of clickbank and amazon niche sites, many more ideas. But at home I say I earn 600$ rest I save for business and future. Now I really feel I can do big in this field, but my family is saying do job of mere 200$ It?ll be 8 hour job & I tried to convince them that I can do very well in this field. But they don?t understand they say this work is not permanent. Forcing me to do job.I?m feeling like my all knowledge will be waste, what to do? Guys give me your suggestions.

One more thing I?m very weak in business scaling, that?s make them afraid. I really don?t want to do job. I just want to work like this and progress in my own work.

    Thanks,
    Imran

You're making $1000/month in India ? Why would anyone in your family say anything? Worse case scenario it stops and then you go find a job; what's wrong with them ?

If they bother too much, with $1000 a month theres a lot of countries you can live in, or just get your own appartment.

Live your life buddy, if you're good at what you do, if you keep a posititve mindset and the hunger for more knowledge, nothing can stop you.

Could get a part time job on top the SEO maybe? Usually one client isn't enough to take up your full day everyday. Then if you get second client and make more $$$ you can quit the part time job and do full-time SEO.

Talk to your folks, OP. First and foremost, if you want to be a good businessman you need to learn how to scale up your business. So read about people that you consider successful and start wearing your heart on your sleeve.

From what I could gather from your post, you're confident as well as insecure about what the future holds for you. You're confident about earning more while being insecure about how to take things forward. Confidence and insecurity don't go hand in hand.

Explain it to them the best you can. I don't know your situation but if they don't like what you're doing... tough cookies for them. Money talks... show them the money you're making and that will shut them up. Simple as that.

I know how family can be with regards to "goals" of making money online -- most of my family are "workers" and they have the "worker" mentality. There is nothing wrong with that -- they make the world go round -- but when you have that mentality... you tend to think along those lines exclusively. The idea of branching out... working for YOURSELF and not for someone else... is a foreign concept.

They told me I needed to get a regular job over and over when I was making only $3 per article at the beginning... I slaved away until I found a mentor and copied what he was doing and I created a 100k per year business (it failed after about 2 years due to the google hammer back in 2011/12, but that's beside the point).

When that business failed, I created an offline business using my online skills -- ebay/amazon sales of a physical product that I created (dog treats if you can believe it, haha).

I now employ both my brother and my dad (part time) with this new business. They didn't believe it when I told them the idea -- "you want to sell natural dog treats, who is going to buy that?! That's dumb!" Had 200k in sales last year, shut them right the hell up.

Not trying to brag or toot my horn or anything like that. Just trying to illustrate the point that you can't let ANYONE keep you down. People tend to project their own "fears" and "failings" onto others. They can't or won't do something, so you can't or shouldn't do it either. That's how it is.

So, to sum it up... tell your family you respect their opinions but you are doing your own thing as an ADULT.

As for your personal fear of scaling up... that would mean outsourcing. It is a scary world AT FIRST. But... once you get past the first blockade... it's nothing. You essentially write out step-by-step what you need to do.... then hand that list to someone else and pay THEM to do it. Far easier than it seems. Believe me I had the same problem.

With outsourcing, you can scale anything. If you want to do everything yourself... there will be no scaling of the business, it's simply not possible.

That's my 2cents on the topic.

    Good luck to you!

    -Sean

Start doing the online marketing business part-time, until you have made money to show your family.
Once you're back on track (financially wise) then quit your job, because your family will see you're earning more than on your "job".

    :)

Just like everyone else my advice would be the same. Keep the job and do SEO part-time. There goes a lot of time into preparing and setting up a good stable business. The job you've now can finance your project perfectly so don't quit it yet. Read, try, apply,.. a lot of SEO stuff and you'll get there.
