    Hi everyone,

I was checking my emails today on Hotmail, I looked in the Junk folder and there was an email from myself. It was a scam email about how to make $24,000,000 on Clickbank. I usually just ignore it but when I saw the sender was my own email address I shat my pants. I don't think I have been hacked though as nothing has been sent from my email, nothing else is out of the ordinary and there is no logins from different IP's. So I don't have a clue whats happening!?!?!

    Anyone have any ideas?

You can spoof where the email appears to have come from. People do this all the time, they spam and spoof the address to come from the same address they are sending to. Nothing to worry about, you aren't hacked, just typical spammers.

I get these emails all the time in my spam folder. They show the sender as being different friends I have on Facebook.

it is absolutely no problem to put anything to the From header part of any email. Check out PHP mail() function, it really easy to use.

As everyone else said, you can change the "from" value of any email sent, especially when you are sending with an SMTP mailer. Don't worry! :)
