I just found an unusual way to ban someone on reddit

I was doing some tests and found this by accident, at the expense of my personal account: 3 years old, regular activity, more than 6K karma, multiple awards... (I'm fckn sad I lost it lol).

Apparently Reddit moderation is even more stupid than I thought.

To keep things simple, you'll just need to send around 3000 DMs with a promotional aim, mentioning the user's name as u/username in the message.

3000 DMs later, he'll be banned for 'spamming the site' and even with a well-crafted appeal that plays the ignorance card (check out my posts and comments there's nothing abnormal or spammy) 9 days later comes the decision: the ban is final.

The DMs should look like that: "It seems you're looking for [X], I can provide it, just send me a message on my main here: u/username".

To give you an idea, 1000 reddit DMs cost an average of $20 with most providers. So apparently for less than $100 you can down anyone.

I tried again with a most recent account and it took me just under 2K DMs. I don't know if this is the most optimized way to ban someone, but it seems to work in my experience. I just wanted to share it with you and see if anyone else had made this observation.

PS: I don't sell reddit mass DMs or any services that are related to reddit, this post is just a sharing of experience.

Good share
I found some tricks also by accident

No it won't work on IG. You can run mass DM with no issues on IG even if you directly mention a user, it's very common. They aren't as stupid as Reddit.
I need to ban someone on IG because he was the reason for losing my main income

Reddit - intellectual elite.

No promotion allowed there hah. To the point you can't even mention someone's username. Reaaally stupid.

This probably would work on twitter and other social media forums too.
It's a common method for gold sellers (to get back on people who charge back after RMT) in games too ;)
I've never had any problem directly mentioning an @ username in mass DMs for IG and Twitter and we're talking hundreds of thousands of messages (campaigns with +500K DMs).

Only reddit is so stupid as to ban someone permanently just because their name has been mentioned in too many DMs (only 3K lol). By trying to put in too much security, they're just creating stupid ways to get anyone banned.

Their subreddits cover meth, porn, political conflicts and more. There's no safety there. ;)

That site is dumb. Full of contradictions.
