I have no idea why but lately I am really beginning to consider buying a next-gen gaming console. I am 49.

It's like a sudden urge that I cannot explain. Talk me out of it. I am leaning towards the Xbox Series X.

If you are passionate about using a particular product and you can afford it, then just go for it, age has absolutely nothing to do with it.

i bought a switch at bargain price, and i am enjoying a bit of pokemon every day to relax. its a high quality little thing.

Age doesn't matter. My father is pushing his 70s and still plays Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PS4.

That is awesome. Because when we indulge in something that is both interesting / entertaining to us AND stimulates our mind (brain) in an entertaining way, it is like a tonic for the brain (a sub-conscious tonic), and the resultant benefits of that, positively helps us in other aspects of our life, such as making us (overall) more productive, more attentive, more happy, etc.

If you have the money for it, then I would never talk you out of it. Even if you don't end up gaming, they are still pretty good entertainment devices, and if you just literally have no use for it later, I am sure a family member or friend has children who would love it.
