I have just ranked accidentally with NO SEO

So back in April I was fooling around and made a website/blog for a popular mobile game. I never planned on monetizing it, as it was mainly for my enjoyment.

Around August I left it alone as I was getting very busy with actual moneymaking sites. At that time it had around 70 blog postsWell long story short I decided to check on the site today and this is what I saw



Here's the traffic breakdown:


I never did any off page SEO. I checked the backlinks and it seems like a popular blog decided to share my post. I also got a bunch of links from reddit and some comments as well.

I didn't even have adsense enabled (I wish I did now), but I did collect an email list. Now I have 4500 double optin targeted emails that I can easily monetize.

I guess the point of this post is to show that it is infact possible to rank naturally. I left it alone, and 2 months later it is ranking in the top 10 for hundreds of long tail keywords.

a friend of mine had the same sort of thing, he did no backlink building at all, he just mentions it on facebook and twitter and he's doing ok.

Decent stats for no backlink building. Social shares?

They ain't that low. I managed to rank too a website for 1k keyword, position 7 without any backlink(except maybe I left a comment on youtube...)

Made the articles in may, gave up because I was impatient, and when I've checked checked in july...BOOM!

And I also got a commission...

Now I'm planning to bring it back...

So yeah...it's possible...

There is a twitter account with 4k followers so maybe that's why

I would say so. Twitter & G+ hold weight really well right now.

There are other factors involved, especially your content. It's not as easy as throwing a SEO package onto a site

Are you watching your link profile, checking competitors back links, keeping your content updated, and checking your on site seo? If you're properly dividing those services up among your tiers, I guarantee it's one of the things I mentioned that you're not doing.

You're doing all of that? You used multiple SEO services and factored them in correctly and got no results?

FYI, you can use the '+quote' option, click every quote you want to respond to, and then click "Insert Quotes" to respond to multiple people in one post.
