I have around 10 guys here experienced in SEO, link building, social media marketing, reputation management, wordpress site development projects, virtual assistance, etc. but recently 2 of my big clients discontinued. As a result, I am left with trained and experienced staff but not much work for them.

I don't want to let them go and want to continue with something where I do not depend on clients and can work on my own projects. I am also ok to work for clients if they have some bulk work and have long term association in mind. But, ideally I would prefer to be self dependent now than client dependent. Any ideas what kind of work I can get my staff engaged in so that I can continue profitably?

    I never understand these posts.
If you are experienced in SEO and Social Media Marketing then why are you not able to generate your own
    business?
If you cannot generate business for yourself then who is going to employ you to generate business for them?

My "business" till now is to provide services to others. Starting own projects will be new to me obviously. I have clients like construction companies, plumbing companies, artists, etc. By your logic, I should start my own construction company first and then promote it? If its so simple then every service seller here should be running his own business rather than serving others?

First option is meet the requirements for JrVIP, upgrade then open a BST offering a full ranking service with all the trimmings.
You are the webguru so this should be a piece of piss.

Second option is split your staff into 2 teams and tell them you are running a competition where the team that comes up with an idea, ranks a site and generates xxxx amount of income in a month will receive a nice tidy bonus. The other team will be fired.

Third option, research the clients that dumped you, find their competitors and start offering them discounted services.

Fourth option, JV with somebody who knows what they are doing.

    Fifth option, give up.

It makes no difference what kind of business you are promoting the premise is still the same.
And you are right by my logic you started an SEO and social network management company and you should be promoting it
using the methods you proclaim to be proficient at.
The service sellers here are running their own businesses servicing others which you claim to do.
But yet you seem not to be able to do that even for yourself.

Make sure you have an SEO agency website ranking for the local seo terms. While your waiting to get new clients from that make some local sites, rank them and sell them on to local companies. Sign the buyers up for SEO

    ^^^^both good advice.

Sounds like you have a team with a leader that doesn't know where or how to lead.

No offense but it sounds like you are saying "I don't know how to run my business - someone tell me what to do."

You have a team of SEO people? Put them to work in your favor. Promote your own offers, promote CPA, etc, etc...

Not really sure what kind of lifeline you will find here. Sounds like 10 guys are going to be out of work soon...

Hope you figure it out soon for their sake.

Im not too sure how you can ask this question with a team of SEO's in your employ.

Make a site, Rank it, Repeat.

    Depends on the proxy
It looks like if 2 of your major accounts quit, it is probably either your fees are high or you are not delivering the expected results. If you are able to rank other people websites it will be obvious to you what to do for yourself to generate enough cash and work for your team.
The other thing you can do is to offer some free services here for the forum members so you can establish your reputation and have some reviews incase if you want to start your own BST.

Get a cheap HD camera, film it (make sure to capture all the unnecesary drama), do some basic editing and sell the show to a TV channel.

It looks like it time to do some cross training. Get 10 of them on the street and start selling your services. There are a couple of offline methods here that you can apply and by the time the weekend is done you will be back in business.

Split test the 10 employees, and who ever sells your services the most, keep them on selling and the rest go back to their jobs.

You need to built a system that allows you to get work independently and not depend on the old client. How do you get your client in the first time anyway,... Isn't because you do promotion, right? Client don't just pop into your email without any promotion effort.
My advice: learn SEO promotion and do what your team best: promote a website (your website)
If you are too lazy to built a promotion system, research your old client and see if they have partners.
