I started doing SEO for the past year and it has been a rough journey. Somehow, I spend either a shitload of time or money building backlinks and just when I am about to hit first page............................... SOME asshole neg seo's me. WTF!

I don't know who it is or how he finds me, but I keep getting neg seo'd. I even bought privacy for some of my sites and they still get neg SEO'D.

At this point, I have just given up on SEO but not internet marketing.

I want to start email marketing as I do not have to worry about SEO.

So does anyone know the best course I can get on list building to cut the learning curve?

If you got money to blow go for solo ads, this is the best way to build your list.
You can also build a landing page or ahem purchase one and blast it with facebook ad traffic. (be sure to read tos)

The other way is to scrape them, though you will need very good filters to avoid spam traps.

Depends on how much it's worth to you, a good way to get emails is to create a squeeze page, offer a PDF related to the niche and offer it via email. Ask them to subscribe to your list for the PDF. Now for the traffic, it totally depends on your niche, some solo ads or PPC traffic could work well if you have the money to invest.

OP, a month and a half ago you posted a method on how to build a mailing list, stating: "a method I previously used to gather emails. However, I have no use for it anymore because I moved on to SEO."

In this thread you say:"I have just given up on SEO...I want to start email marketing" and ask for advice on how to build a mailing list.

    I got confused.

the person who Negative SEO'ed probably found all of your site using a
reverse ip search. this will show all of the websites on part or a server
    or something like that.

There are ways to cleaning up the negative seo. Do not give up because one of your competitors is pushing you down. There many threads here regarding neg. seo. If you are going to email, consider that you have a LOT of research and testing to do.

My method of email marketing was different. I moved onto solo ads and click banking which I never did previously. Thats why I asked.

You need to keep your sites on seperate IP's, with different whois, to stop unscrupulous people finding your sites. Also you need to diversify, if they find one of your sites is linking to supergames.info - they do a reverse link report for supergames.info and find all your sites. Its very difficult to stop unfortunately.

Good luck with email marketing, however i believe it will be much more difficult, if you think googles SEO algorithms are bad, wait until you hit their spam filters.

Isn't it easier to start using mailchimp or something like that to avoid spam filters? Not a pro on email marketing though...

That is what I am doing, using aweber for email marketing right now. If you know which words to dodge, you will not get many spam complaints and will hit inbox. However, solo ads and click banking were slightly more complicated to deal with.

why not do both? emails is hard, but if you can do it then its a great thing. add seo with it and your flying. you were having success before you got negged. so it means just gotta improvise and you will be number 1.

Smart idea, however. I will focus more power into email marketing. I haven't completely dumped SEO, I still have one site and trying to rank it. However, not entirely putting more effort into it.

It's really just making a really good capture page, then sending traffic to it. When I make one I like to do split tests and make a few and then throw different traffic sources at all of them and then keep what works best.
