Since one of the main problems of dropshipping from Ali is the delivery time, isn't it a great option for me to take advantage of this warehouse? I mean getting the items and sending them straight away to the customer? What do you guys think about that, please reply. Thanks!

No. Most AliExpress items are sold by individual sellers rather than Ali Express themselves

What do you mean by that? It's their warehouse, every item goes through there first, no matter who is the seller.

That might be a good idea if you can find a way to ship direct at a price point that is in line with aliexpress and a tine frame that is better than what we get from them currently.

The price for the delivery might be a little bigger than usual but for that cost, the item will be in customer's hands in 4-5 days I guess. Should I give it a try?

That would be something that many would consider in that epacket takes forever.

Why wouldn't you set up a postage company then! Think bigger. Offer posting services to drop shippers.

    hey @stepannnn

I am sure you know this already, AliExpress runs roughly the same business model as Amazon, so the vast majority of sellers are individuals like you and me, who receive orders and pack and post themselves. These items would never go though any warehouse. As far as I know fulfilment by AliExpress is not really popular/available at the moment.

There are many AliExpress suppliers that use overseas warehouses but generally speaking they have a very limited range, and you can not just walk into a warehouse and buy a single item. How would you find out which suppliers used the warehouse?

If you want to take advantage of local warehouses when buying from AliExpress you can do this from the AliExpress website:

Click the ships from drop-down and select the most local warehouse.

But the problem with this is the warehousing and shipping costs. Because China is considered a developing market, richer countries subsidise their postal service, meaning they can post packages for next to nothing. I picked the first USB lead that came up when I chose shipping from France and selected France as the shipping to country.[IMG]

The total price for this is now around €7.50 (without your markup). I can go to my local supermarket and buy a cable for that price. Now the same USB lead shipped from China using China Post's ePacket shipping would cost around €4.50. There are around 40 countries that support ePacket shipping (including the Netherlands) and it takes around 7 to 10 days. Most people don't have an issue waiting if they know in advance. I personally would be happy to wait an extra few days if I was paying half the price.

This USB lead is of course is only an example (not something I would recommend selling). If you have higher value items, shipping from local warehouses can be profitable. But generally I think you will find it hard to compete with other suppliers when you buy from local warehouses. I would suggest finding items on AliExpress and wherever possible shipping from China using ePacket.

I hope that is of some help to you.
