I have a very good .com domain with just a holding page saying 'coming soon' that has been registered for 10yrs+ but only shows records from 2003 in whois lookup.

I have tried typing the domain name directly into google search and there is no sign of it. Is it indexed?

Also if the domain is over 10 years old why do the whois records only show records from 2003?

    Both those things are odd.

What is your basis for saying the name is 10+ years old (I'm not doubting just curious about your history with the name and where the data is coming from). Have you used different domain tools to see if there are any discrepancies between different service providers?

And I'm surprised it doesn't show up at all google. Have you run it through:

    http://www.xinureturns.com

I'd be interested in the results from there as well.

    peace,
    gregs.

Also checked on web-archive and history starts in 2003.

This is a very good quality domain name and when I bought it I was told it was over 10yrs old and have no reason to doubt it since I would have expected this domain to have been registered very early when .com first began.

Saying that it could possibly have been registered in 2003 in which case the person must have thought it was his birthday!

    search in google "site:domain.com"

If it gives you back any result - is indexed. If it not - is not indexed.

By the way, if it is not indexed it is not an aged domain, and does not hold any special seo trust. The aged domain - in the seo concept - is referred to how long the domain has been in google, not how long it was registered.

So, it does not matter whether your domain is 10 years old, or is a new domain, if it has not been indexed, it does not have any special prerogatives.
