I made a vertical menu, but there is too much space between the links as you can see on the picture. How do i make lesser space between them?

Is this WordPress theme? If yes, here's how you to can do it

Just adjust the padding for each menu and that should get them closer. You can select the text on the menu and right click choose inspect element on Chrome - then you can just play around with the padding value until you get it right.

Now, go to your style.css and adjust the same padding size as you did in the previous step for menu style.

Try to use Inspect element and reduce the padding.
Whenever it is matched as per your requirement, search for that line in your css file.
Do the change and enjoy :top:

Make sure you do any changes in a child theme, otherwise changes you make now will be over ridden when WordPress updates. Never change core code

i mean that when making changes do it in the child theme as wordpress over rides any changes you make
