I Have A Simple Request, Very Sad Story

PLEASE READ, THIS IS A SAD STORY AND IT'LL ONLY TAKE A MINUTE OF YOUR TIME TO HELP THESE PEOPLE...

Every year, a local radio station near me has a cutest baby contest. The parents of the winning baby wins $1000 cash and $1000 worth of automotive parts/service/accessories.

This year's contest has a baby named Micah Norton, he's baby number 0799. He passed away unexpectedly earlier today at 7 months old. This story has been on the local news, his parents don't have much money and have said if they win this contest they are going to use the prize money to put towards their son's funeral.

I don't know this baby or his parents, but I do have three children and can't even begin to imagine what they are going through.

I am going to post a link to his obituary when it's published in the paper. But since he passed away, it'll probably be a day or two until it's on the newspaper website. Until then, if you look at the link to his picture, you'll see all the comments that have been posted there.

Sorry but comments on flickr don't cut it for me. Call me skeptical or whatever
but I've seen the depths people will plunge to before. If the story has been on the local news it should be on the web somewhere or you can post the local news station and I'll give them a call.

PS: I had my first kid early this year and I can understand the pain of losing a child. May God give the parents patience and peace in their mourning.

Sorry to OP for the anger but this guy needs to chill the fuck out and learn that helping a person even if their lying is still doing GOOD on your half, Karma comes around.

I like to see smart skeptical people from time to time.

Anyway if that's true,it's sad for that baby's parents.
 
This is bhw but I do ot think someone would stoop to that level for $1000. Much misery will come to those that do.

I voted. If it is real, thanks for bringing it to our attention and allowing us to help. If it is fake, good, the baby is alive.

I understand being skeptical. I didn't personally see it on the news, since I'm currently in Connecticut, and I live in Maine. I can show you my FB profile to prove that. But the three news channels in my area are WCSH 6, WMTW 8 and WGME 13.

I'd look up their contact info for you, but I'm not going to bend over backwards to do it, so if you really want to prove it for me, give them a call. I've already been on their website and couldn't find anything about it, but they don't post every story on the website.

Or you could just be skeptical for another day or two until I post a link to his obituary.

If It's true I'll wire them a couple of hundred dollars. But I've seen people pull all kinds of shit before. I googled the childs name and area and can't find a single thing. This just seems very odd to me and I would like to verify the source of your information.

The Op has kindly supplied some info and it all looks legit. I'll be voting and encouraging others to do so as well.

I just sent you a PM with some info I don't want to show publicly. I've been googling his name and digging into the news websites also, like I said, we have to be skeptical. I heard it was on the news from a friend, but like I saidm I didn't see it since I'm not home right now. I'll be home tomorrow evening sometime, so if I can't find his obit online before then I'll call the news stations and see what I can find out.

Sorry if my post earlier sounded mean, been on vacation with just me and my three kids for a week, I'm a little stressed right now!

Why can't you take a minute to vote? In the time it took you to write your response, you could have voted.
