Will a NEW .edu site hosted on Google Sites(my school is a subdomain on google sites.((dont know if that is what subdomain means))my school is using google for email and stuff and theres an app on google that allows me to create like blogs.) help ranking at all?And if so what do u recommend i do with it to rank a website.
Thanks in advance! Im still beginning to learn IM and SEO. I plan to read tutorials on backlinks and G2A and Scrapebox before I do anything
A few more questions. Can I do this for backlinking.Create a few blogspots and tumblrs(they are called web 2.0s right?) and then use GSA and Scrapebox to spam them with backlinks from other blogs and websites and fourms related to my niche
And what types of websites should i try and get for backlinking. Like blog comments or forum etc?and what are the advantages of expired web 2.0s over new ones.

It will help for sure.. however you need to understand link diversity and a natural link velocity is important for ranking.. So use your college website to build a few links, but don't overdo it for the same website.. also build links for regular authority sites like cnn, bloomberg (or the authority sites in your niche)...

Its helpful but don't go spamming on it. One or two links to your site from it are more than enough. 10 links isn't 10 times better than one.

My experience has been that it is just as helpful as other sites for link diversity and best used with branding anchor text or naked urls, but it is not a magic pill that makes it better than many other sites.
