Why is it that every douchebag and his 14 yr old brother with a twitter account try's to "brand" themselves as a social media expert?

I mean seriously.. what the hell is a social media expert anyway - oh goodie, you make friends with people via internet based communication.

Like you're 12000 twitter friends and being a self appointed "social media expert" is going to help you move out of your grandmas basement....

These douchebags need to get off twitter and their brand new shiny "social media expert" blog that only other self appointed experts seem to read than go meet up with some FRIENDS or go out to a bar or club and get a freakin life.

I had to get that rant of my chest and aside from splitting it up into a series of 140 character tweets... I couldn't think of a better place to post this than here on BHW where marketers are focused on results and making MONEY rather than a bunch of BS...

And if it pissed you off, don't say I didn't warn you!

I don't like it when people appoint themselves ANY kind of expert. However, I disagree with you about the "getting a life" bit. If a human being is alive, he has a life. Some people prefer to spend time on the internet socializing with people, instead of having a lot of "real" friends and going out to bars or clubs. (I'm a bit like one of those people.) That doesn't make their life any better or worse than anyone else. Who is anybody to say going out bars and clubs is good, and spending all your time on the internet is not? Says who? Why? Because that's what a lot of people do? A lot of people also work dead-ass jobs 9 hours a day for pennies. Does that mean we should too?

The people who say "get off the internet and get a life" are the same people that say "Internet Marketer? is that some kind of spammer? why don't you get a REAL job."

But yeah..."social media expert" is as bullshit as most of the "marketing gurus" out there.

Warrior Forum is down the hall to the right. You'll find a better audience for your rant there.

Your issue is a non-starter here.
