Would it be better to make a micro niche site or an authority site?
For example: Say if you had a weight loss keyword and you used that for your micro niche site. But you really can't deviate from that keyword if you want to rank for it. As opposed to an authority site that talks about weight loss topics period. I have clyde's ultimate niche finder and I was thinking about finding low difficulty keywords and making posts out of them and putting them on an authority site that I would make. Instead of limiting myself to 1 keyword per site, how about having 1 site and lots of keywords. That way I can keep expanding my site as well.

Just an idea I thought about, what do you think?

Any ideas anyone? I want to take action right away, but I'm not sure if this is a money maker or not.

I always go for the bigger sites. Just choose a suitable domain, and rank the inner pages.
Understand that it is a lot of work. Essentially each page you rank is a MNS itself, so a lot of backlinking needs to be done.

Combine the content of a few related microniche sites into one bigger site.

3 microniche sites becomes 1 milliniche site!

3 milliniche sites becomes 1 centiniche site! (not following actual scale...just making words up here...)

    yay new marketing terms!

It's quite a personal choice, but IMO I prefer to build larger "authority" sites.

They take longer to rank but I feel it's a shame when you've got a site that could be expanded but the domain is pigeon holed to a micro niche.

Google rewards large, authority sites and this isn't going to change. I feel like your wasting your time making throwaway sites.

I would go with the micro niche. This is because in my experience it is a lot easier to make money with those "micro" niche sites. The problem with "authority" sites is that you will have to put in tons of more work and they still may NEVER become authority sites (in Google's eyes). The positive side of course is that if you could build a real authority site you would pretty much be set for life.

I have a great answer. Go with Authority answer. Building Authority Sites is Much Better than Micro Niche Sites.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'm going to go with Authority Sites. Micro Niche sites are hard to keep updated if you're running out of topics since it's dedicated to one keyword. What if you have a keyword like blah blah garage parts - how can you keep writing posts about that lol?

Building back links to my authority sites shouldn't be that hard since I have scrapebox. Plus, I can pick different products to promote as well. Also I heard Google likes to see different anchor texts within back links so this should be great as well. I know it wouldn't start off as an authority site, but at least it will get up there over time. Plus, I know how to find low competition keywords with a lot of searches and since it will be an authority site...I wouldn't have to worry about a domain being available.

Update: Everything seems to be going fine. I found a lot of low competition and high traffic keywords. I made posts for all them, and then I'm going to schedule them to be posted everyday instead of posting them all at once. I hope this works out :D

I think it's best to make authority sites, they just have way more possibilities on expansion, whereas with a single MNS you target a low amount of keywords, with little chance to expand.

Maybe an idea is to make a MNS within a niche, and then if it turns out successful try to build an authority site within the niche?

So I believe I'm going to start this back up again along with my other project that I have began. I wanted to a MNS site, but I heard those are not that profitable because of the Panda Update
