    Hi BHW,

This is going to be a long post, so please bear with me. First, a little about myself. I am a fulltime software engineer working 40 hours a week, working IM on the side. I have a great wealth of experience and knowledge. This site has taught me so much, and has provided a healthy monthly income on the side of my day-job. In any case, I just want to say, I know from start to finish, how to take an idea, invest in the right areas of outsourcing, and put it together to make a buck. I wake up everyday with 2-3 new "schemes", and I try to put them to work. Some work out, most die in a jar somewhere after the initial excitement wears off. I bet a lot of you know what I am talking about.

Anyway, I don't know if this is the best place to post such a thing, but I wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone else is in the same situation or has some good advice. This community has always helped me, and I have tried to always give back when I could, although only shown by one "Thanks".

My problem here is I have a larger idea, than the initial excitement has not worn off yet. In fact, it's a great idea when you are talking about the big picture - like it's revolutionary. I think comparable to how the big nasty G changed the world. I have some smaller steps to execute the larger picture, including a perfect niche to start. However, this idea has a quite a few steps. It requires Market Research, developing a business plan, getting investors, development on various platforms, executing sales, and all in while, beating competitors in this. (No one is doing my idea now, but a couple of companies in similar areas, it's almost obvious that they would move in the direction I want to go next)

Now, the problem is, all this is way over my head. I've started by placing a listing looking for someone to do Market Research, but I'm not even sure exactly what I need. Obviously I could keep throwing my own money at this, but this idea needs perfect execution, and I know enough to know that I am over my head. Idea's are a dime a dozen, but it takes execution.

How would YOU start executing an idea that you know is great, but you don't know where to take it / how to drive it? I know I need someone with experience to drive a project like this, but honestly , all my friends / associates / network I have doesn't really give me someone I know is capable to drive a project like this.

Sorry for the long post, I'm just throwing this out there, any feedback is welcome, even some posts to put me on the right track.

I´m not going to read all that but if you have a great idea, act on it.

Good luck getting anywhere if you can't even read a couple of paragraphs.

@OP: Take time to set objectives and once you achieve them have a new set of objectives. Like a stairway to success. I normally make a plan on www.bubbl.us (seems to be down at the moment).

Also have daily objectives for example when doing SEO some daily objectives might be:
    Get 50 Backlinks today
    Get 10 PR1 Backlinks today
    Get 5 PR2 Backlinks today
    Get 5 PR3+ Backlinks today

Keeping to them is difficult but if you stick to them and they're good objectives you should do well...

I think you should start by compartmentalizing your idea.

If you separate your "idea" into smaller pieces, you might even be able to outsource all of it...that is, if you're just an idea person and want to be hands-off.

At least that way, you can get more bang for your buck if you pay for only the work you need done. As for knowing what you need done...you will have to find someone you trust to discuss this with, someone who can help to organize your thoughts.
