It's true. He works nights at a large hotel as a valet driver. From 10pm to 6:30am he is the only person on shift. Here's a statistical fact derived from two years of doing the same type of thing: People who check into or out of hotels between 10pm and 6:30am generally have nicer cars, higher incomes, and tip better.

So this guy is getting paid $15 an hour, and will usually get close to $100 per day in cash tips from 7-10 valet moves. Each valet move takes ten minutes between introduction to parking and returning to the porte cochere. Ten of those is an hour and forty minutes. Throw in a couple piss breaks and talking to guests and he's sitting at two hours of actual work.

The remaining time he works on his businesses. He sits outside at night in a cool, covered area at the equivalent of a desk and builds websites. Imagine getting $60,000 a year, most of which is untaxed, just for showing up. And then spending most of your time grinding through building a passive income in beautiful surroundings listening to the crickets and feeling the breeze, occasionally stopping to talk with an interesting guest, pocket a Jackson, and parking their Panamera.

    What a dream job.

Oh, sorry, there was a point to that story. If you can find yourself a night job where most of your work is spent sitting around (security, hotel front services, etc etc), it's a great way to be able to spend extended time working on your online world without sacrificing ridiculous hours, or forgoing employment.

    Any vacancies?:)

You wouldn't get away with that at most jobs here in the uk.

Every employer I know will ensure there are enough menial tasks to keep their employee earning their £7.50 an hour!!!

I'm actually a hotel front desk guy at night and it's exactly what I do. Not a dream job but nice. (not considering the fact that sooner or later you'll have blood pressure problems due to living only at night)

There's a guy in a bungalow down the street from me right on the river who works as a bridge operator during the day. 12-15 times a day he peeks his head out of the little booth window and checks for traffic, then presses a few buttons so the bridge can raise up and let sailboats through. Other than that, he spends the rest of the day writing the great American novel, looking out at the cityscape.

Okay, that might be a stretch. But for a 21 year old like himself with no degree and a love of people and cars, yeah, dream job haha.

I do have friends who'd do this job for free if they get to drive a Panamera from time to time :D

One of the highlights of my job when I did something similar was the cars I got to drive. Top five were:
    • A brand new Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead
    • Ferrari FF
    • Bam Margera's Lamborghini
    • A Tesla Model S when they were a brand new thing
    • Mercedes Benz AMG G63

This is the best car I did drive (and own) yet:

    Not my photo actually.

Next to the car above I drove one of these beauties a few times (actually my mom's car):

Positive side of that: Whenever I have some money to buy a new car, it will be better than the old one :D

    A mercedes A class is a beauty???

You are either quite young or from a country that doesn't have many high class cars. Plenty of other Mercedes I would consider a 'beauty' but the A class ain't one of them.

That actually was (or should have been) irony. I found that car to be really ugly, especially since its an old A-class. The new ones look quite good in my opinion. I'd most likely like the A-class in the picture above if I'd be 50 years older, at least.

I'm located in germany, so I do see plenty high class cars regulary :D And yes, Mercedes has shitloads of great cars but they are really expensive usually too and way out of my league, sadly :D

The last Mercedes we had I traded in for a Mazda CX-9.

The CX-9 rode much better than the Mercedes... not sure if I just had a bad one or if that brand is not what it once was in terms of quality back in the day.

Yeah the newer A class isn't too bad. Those I think were ugly as fuck and the biggest mistake Mercedes ever made but they were trying to attract the lower budget buyers.

The Mazda CX-9 looks quite nice too. I can't speak about anything beside that old A-class but that is just shit. Its not only ugly it does not drive well too. If there's at least a bit of wind you'll get blown away like shit. Everything above 60 mp/h is completely uncomfortable in that car.
Yes I doubt too that wasn't a smart move in the end.

I'm very curious about what will happen to them because of the cartel agreements that have been released lately. It's been reported they were the first ones to admit it and therefore might get low punishments only. German car industry has been a total mess of scandals the last 2 years.

Ya, after university when I hadn't a clue what I wanted to do I moved to the UK. A friend of a friend there got a job as the car park attendant at a nice hotel. When he left I made sure I was his replacement.

In at 7am to tidy up, took around 40 minutes normally, maybe 1hr 15 when there were leaves on the ground in the autumn. The rest of the time I was in a little hut issuing tickets and taking money until 8pm.

Got my meals included, had my 39 hours done in 3 days doing around 3-5 hours of real work [the tidying up] a week. I was earning a little above minimum wage.

Was great, I just read books all day trying to figure out what the hell I wanted to do with my life.

Certainly don't underestimate jobs like these. Plenty of them are out there. It's a good move if you use your time wisely.

I was working in IT for 3 years..

most of the time we were playing computer game, watching porn or movies...

well, I was building websites while shooting at colleaagues with a nerf gun.. but, after 3 years, the job sucked.. even brainless work gets annoying after some time.

website still to this day most of them make $$ a month. without ever having put any article on thim.

sadly, I now have to build up their link profile, cause some competition sneak in. who cares ...

    to make it short:

find some boring job, work in it. try to build your online emperium during working hours

I'm a bit of a fan of japanese motors myself. My current car is a 22 year old toyota estima lucida. It's a japanese import that I bought because I needed a car with lots of space at the time.

Considering it's 22 years old, apart from routine maintenance and consumable parts I've had to do nothing to it and it still drives as good as many new cars I've owned.

Every time I consider trading it in for a new car I just can't bring myself to do it. I do like mazdas though.
