It's true. He works nights at a large hotel as a valet driver. From 10pm to 6:30am he is the only person on shift. Here's a statistical fact derived from two years of doing the same type of thing: People who check into or out of hotels between 10pm and 6:30am generally have nicer cars, higher incomes, and tip better. So this guy is getting paid $15 an hour, and will usually get close to $100 per day in cash tips from 7-10 valet moves. Each valet move takes ten minutes between introduction to parking and returning to the porte cochere. Ten of those is an hour and forty minutes. Throw in a couple piss breaks and talking to guests and he's sitting at two hours of actual work. The remaining time he works on his businesses. He sits outside at night in a cool, covered area at the equivalent of a desk and builds websites. Imagine getting $60,000 a year, most of which is untaxed, just for showing up. And then spending most of your time grinding through building a passive income in beautiful surroundings listening to the crickets and feeling the breeze, occasionally stopping to talk with an interesting guest, pocket a Jackson, and parking their Panamera. What a dream job.
