I have a file I want to share via mediafire
but its one file and its about 300mb
mediafire only allows a maximum of 200mb for uploading

My question is, how do I split up the file so I can upload it to
    mediafire and share here.

I run windows vista (puke) on a dell.

Someone help me out so I can share!

    Thanks

You can split in Winzip or Winrar.

Either upload to "Megaupload" instead. Much faster.

I'm assuming you have WinRAR? In that case, just right-click the file you want to compress, click 'Add to archive' and in the window that opens, there should be a pull-down menu in the bottom left corner saying 'Split to volumes, bytes'. Enter the number in bytes that you want each volume to be or select one of the options from the drop-down menu itself. Then just click OK and WinRAR will start creating the archive.
