I have a 1000's of contacts on Linkedin but,how do I make money from Linkedin?

I have seen buttons that can drive posts to Twitter accounts on blogs,I have seen Linkedin ads which companies have bought into but,how can a regular "joe" cash in? Plug ins like SlideShare or any other internal apps that use the Linkedin API?

even i have 4k connections whom i can send messages.. may be you can create a blog on something professional material and send them the link! if they are interested then they will click and purchase and you'll earn something!

Linkedin is professional network so i won't suggest going for any other niche!
 
In my opinion, you can't make Linkedin work for Black Hat techniques. Sure, you can get as many followers as you like but that means shit all. I get 80% of my B2B business from Linkedin and it is great if used correctly but believe me when I say that people on there just hate, I mean HATE, spammers and marketers who just spam crap all day.
 
i wasn;t aware of easy ways to monetize linked in. i think recruiters make decent money but thats like an actual job.
 
Useful info. Linkedin can be used for IM as I have heard people taking advantage of it. But there are few specific ways to do it I guess. Nice thread btw.
 
You could send a mass customized message to a group of your contacts.
Work on doing lists from different niches and languages in order to get better results ;)
 
I would suggest using Linkedin's advanced search to sort through your 1st level connections based on their industry. Note how many of your 1st levels are in each industry. Save your searches so you can quickly reference later. Then find high ticket services or products that may be of interest to people in those specific industry niches. Then CAREFULLY craft a message that doesn't give away too much info but enough to get them interested. Then ask if they would like more info. Don't include a link to what you are selling in the first message. Let them ask for it. The people who respond with interest are where you will find your gold.
