I did some work for this big company... and in the contract ended up with a trade of somewhere along the lines of $70,000 plus in television air time its on cable in my city... city of 4 million people... what can i do with it.. to convert it to money.... I cannot sell it ... I have to use it on a product or service that i offer... and of course no porn.. none of that dirty stuff... its a big network... I can't name it.. but think of the biggest names in music video channels... the demographic is people 15 thru 28 I was thinking of selling tennis shoes.. like nike etc make a site... and cash in on the ads with the sales of the shoes.. and bump it up with Black hat stuff of course... but... any suggestions would be great... PM me please if you don't want to put your idea out in the open... thanks
What you said sounds like a good idea, just promote something to sell that the demographic would like (Nike shoes would be good), but I'm just wondering.. how long does $70k get you on TV for? I've always wondered that. Anyways good luck and I hope you make a lot
I get a minimum of 25 commercials per week... they are prime time too.. they can run whenever i want them to... the commericials are 30 seconds long... and i have this running for a whole year... so basically i have 25commercials x 52 weeks = 1300 commercials.. but they run more than 25 stated on the contract... ... they are nice to me...
This could be huge if you knew how to market it, A ringtone offer would do well if its a channel with music.
I know.. it a great opportunity.. but i need to treat it like im actually investing the money.. so i really need to make more than the 70G.... I have like 7 good ideas.... and I am just asking the collective knowledge of the black hat community to see if anyone has an idea better than what i have already..
As someone mentioned above, ringtones. They fit in exactly with the channel content and run up big payouts, like $10.00 per as an average really. Given that the demographic age range you've given seem like kind of people who wouldn't be that inclined to spend, mobile offers are going to be your next best bet to monetize them for the most ROI.
Good luck.. there are so many things you could do. You should be able to bank hard. My advice would be to talk with an expert in TV marketing. Not sure there are too many people here at BHW who have experience with it? Whatever you do, keep us updated though. It would be nice to see a case study on something like this.
70k / 1300 commercials = ~$54 dollars per 30 seconds of air time? WHAT? I had no idea it was that cheap..
He said its for his city only, thats why. You can also get Radio air time pretty cheap. I live in chicago and you can run Radio ads for 10-30 bucks for a 30 sec commercial. Ive heard commercials for websites that I later on visited and they turned out to be a "Free laptop" offer lol. But you CAN'T just buy 1... you need to invest large sums and sign a contract.
What kind of monetization did you have in mind? Taking everything to a bare bones level you have; sale (via cc/dc), sale/lead (via mobile)* and basic lead. The reason why I placed a * symbol next to the via mobile, is because although the user isn't technically completing a sale, he still gets charged like $10+ over the subscription period, whereas a basic lead is completely free. In all honesty, mobiles will probably allow you to bank that hardest - but, will end up pissing off a lot of subscribers when they find some "hidden" charges on their monthly phone bill. If it's a one time thing, then I guess it's up to what you're willing to do.
actually the rate is higher... i just quoted $70k as a number to work off of.. the ads run much higher... they are prime time... and they are throwing in a lot of overage... and radio ads can run for $25... but not prime time.. radio in my area prime time is around $100-150...
Offer to set up a website for $7, but must sign up through your hostgator aff link. "Remember people, I can only sell 77 at this price, before they go back up to $199 each. I will even throw in 10 related articles at no extra cost"...blah,blah,blah
first thing that comes to mind is hitting up some of the pay per call offers on CJ. i think phone numbers would convert better than urls for a TV commercial. as always though, you'll probably get the best results by doing a shitload of split testing instead of just trying to guess. with $70k of air time you can sure afford it
This. If you can find a targeted pay per call program, that'll most likely definitely convert better. There was even a case study run by Joel Comm, where he basically concluded that the conversions received from TV ad to url weren't great at all. The exception here might be the likes of insurance providing services like Gecko, or ComparetheMarket here in the UK, which because of their huge caps can brand through commercials and get the whole brand name stuck in your head. That said, I don't know what kind of url Joel Comm was using. If it was like http://www.buymycrappyinfoproduct.com/scam-2/ or something long with a folder, then clearly that would factor into the equation as to why they didn't convert through, and that's another tip, make sure your URL is easy to remember.
Make money from home ads? Or I saw an ad on pofecker's cpa network about getting an ipod super cheap and you get $8 per convert or something like that. But try to go with something like shoes, electronics, cell phones..
wow, this is super cool ... something that could set you up for a long long time also something that is easy to blow. good luck. interested in keeping up with this
