Anyone want to work out a plan with me?

I'm not looking to steal anyone's exact model, just to work out a plan for ranking a new site with the time that I have.

I'm starting a new job at a bank in 2 weeks, I'm happy because the pay is great, but I still want to do better with my IM ventures, and during the 2 weeks that I will be off before I start, I want to work on a single site.

    Some details:

    - Exact search for term is 28k a month
    - Want to outsource as little as possible
    - Site is already indexed, doing the Google Dance but hovering around page 7
    - Competition is mixed, 2 sites are my main competition, the rest on the first page is junk

So, right out of the gate I'll let you know the only 2 things I want to/have already outsourced: a high PR forum links package ($20 on this site, PR4 and up I believe), and an simple blast from the Dripable free trial.

I plan on doing blog commenting, searching for high PR blogs in the niche.

I plan on writing at least 15 articles in this 2 week span, and submitting them to directories, spinning only the guts, rewriting the first and last paragraph (really need help with this, I'm very unfamiliar with article submissions for SEO purposes and I could use lots of advice on where to submit and how to do this properly.)

I'd like opinions and advice on anything, a few example include:

    - Is it worth it to buy Bookmarking Demon, or to pay for a gig for bookmarking? How should I bookmark, every blog post? Other pages?

    - Is linklicious/me something I should look into for the PR forum backlinks, to input them and ping them right away?

    - Are press release services worth it?

    - Any other White Hat SEO tips you'd like to offer?

I'll be glad to answer any questions and post screenshots of my progress, I figured posting a topic is a good way to keep me on task for this little side project, hope to hear some advice from you all!

So far so good, I'm currently sitting on the number 3 page after only a few days.

Question: Would it be wise to try to rank for 2 keywords at once? I noticed another keyword I could be ranking for, at about 14k exact per month, and it is very similar to the one I'm currently trying to rank for, so putting it in the site title and description is nothing.

My question is, should I build backlinks with this anchor text as well? It might be a useful way to have more variety in my links, all the while trying to rank for another phrase, or should I just focus on one and target this one sometime later?
