I got spammed with auto script websites!! Rank dropped as hell

Hey,

My website is kinda new to SEO....So I had only 5 backlinks or so, Then I got very good magazine website backlink they wrote an article about my website, In the same day I checked with ahrefs, I got literally 80 "auto script backlinks" which means 80 different website in my same niche have spun that magazine article "includes my anchor keyword" and posted it.

So now my website has 5 natural links and 80-100 do-follow backlinks created in the same day with same keyword with same spun article, Which according to google is pure spam, So that exact keyword was ranked #15 and now it's #66 !

I'm think of building some strong backlinks, But here is the question, Do u think I should disavow those 80 auto script websites links ? or wait till the current google's update to rollout ?


Please only advice me if experienced with such a situation before, So we all know the best ideas.

Don't disavow, just balance out your backlink profile ratio to match. Should be fine - only disavow if you get a penalty
 
Add more quality backlinks and if there is no improvement in the ranking or slow improvement

Wait a few weeks at least and build more links meanwhile. Then decide. Sometimes these changes hit websites short term but eventually goes back to normal or in the long term even help

like others have said: don't disavow.

just continue to add solid backlinks. even if you don't do anything, most likely your ranking will come back.

also, google is going through another update as we speak. your going down in ranking could be due to the update and not to those 80 auto script links. does those 80 links even show up in GSC?

Check their spam score first. If it's high, I would disavow them or the toxic ones. Otherwise, I would rebalance anchor text.
 
Check spam score and other metrics using 3rd party tools. Google doesn't share this info. If the links are hurting your portfolio, you should disavow them, otherwise keep adding better links as it improves your RDs.
 
There might be a high chance that your rank drop has nothing to do with these backlinks. Anyway, I would check these websites on several factors: spam score, DA, number of indexed pages. If they don't have any value, I'd better disavow them with ease
 
I have checked most of links, most of them having from 6% spam score to 25%, Shall I disavow them then ?

First, dont share clear data here because everyone will know your website and this will never end well.

Second, there is nothing called bad backlinks (there are but not those). Any link is a good backlink. At worst case you lost ranks because of 100% exact anchor in very short span in time.. in best case, google is recalculating your page because of new links and you will come back stronger.

So, just ignore at and continue doing what you were doing till the dust settles. Disvow tool wont go anywhere
