Like the title says, there is a pretty big construction company in the state I live in & because of my good reputation, the owner just offered me a digital marketing job with them... The thing is I have zero real world experience, I will mainly focus on Lead generation and reputation management. Does anyone have some advice that they can share or experience? I would love some insight and sugestions on what I should offer & do!

I have a construction company in NYC i can tell you this much...contractors are dumb. Probably easy to bedazzle this guy with what knowledge you already have. Not sure what they are paying but I would run with it untill the wheels fall off. Good luck lol

LOL Just make sure there's at least SOME measurable positive results after say 6 months imo.

What exactly does the digital marketer position entail in this company?

If it has no internet presence, start with that, have it help generate the business leads. Create a website and social media presence.

See about getting on relevant classifieds. Build the company a CRM on some platform. Work with sales to see what's the clientele.

Perhaps there's some possible ad placements on relevant long tail keywords specified to the business, see about ads.

If you have no real world experience with digital marketing, then how do you have a good enough reputation to get offered a job as a digital marketer?

What does the job description tell you that your duties even are? What did the owner tell you he wants done?

Is this a reputation management gig or are you going to be doing SEO?

Until you adapt to the position, act as if you've been doing it for years. And when they ask you something, overwhelm them with data and terms unknown to them until they don't want to continue the conversation or have any desire to come back for more.

Fired immediately and called visionary ironically

They are already big, what they want is probably online presence, active social media, updated website. As for leads, they should have their own way. If you can bring in some leads through online which most likely will happen from social media posts, that's great.

I think what they actually want is someone to manage their social media and website. Should be easy to optimize the website and social media for the city easily.

Always measure and be able to visualize and chart your data. As long as you can show the numbers going up along with their bottom line, you'll always have a job. Good luck!

I don't understand how you were able to earn such reputation without having any experience, but nonetheless, if you accepted the job and have questions, feel free to reach out because I have experience in this industry.

All they need is some reports and results that I think you can give them with lead generation.
we used to have some construction client that didn't give a sht about ads or anything. Only thing they wanted was calls and clients.

That’s sounds like me lol…my whole thing is SEO make the damn phone ring. Usually that works but I’m thinking ads are getting to be the way to go
