    This is BULLSHIT....

FU*K the court of Las Vegas....

......YOU MUST CALL 702-455-**** IMMEDIATELY TO RE-SCHEDULE YOUR SERVICE DATE OR THE COURT MAY INITIATE CONTEMPT OF COURT PROCEEDINGS AGAINST YOU.

CONTEMPT OF COURT IS PUNISHABLE BY A FINE UP TO $500.00, 25 DAYS IN JAIL, OR COMMUNITY SERVICE.

WTF is this!!!!!!! How can they send something like this that is not even certified mail??!?!?!?!!!!!??? I refuse to go into a court at the crack of dawn....I don't even wake up till the sun is halfway down!!!

Well, I don't know about Nevada, but here in Missouri, you have to, at least, show up. If you don't, you need a damn good reason why you didn't, like, you are dead or some such. My sister didn't show up, and the court zagged her ass. $500 fine, community service, they got really shitty with her.

My advice, call them and re-schedule, and show up when you are supposed to be there.

I've done it a time or two. It isn't that bad, if you don't get roped into a felony trial where you get sequestered. Thats what got my sister in trouble, they were selecting jurors for a capitol murder trial, and she didn't want anything to do with it.

Mostly, though, it just kills your time, and the court here only pays you $17/day + mileage. It gets into your pocket if you get into a long, drawn-out trial.

    Hey Donor,
Normally, that suggestion about self-employment WILL NOT fly.
Judges will piously mention "sacred duty" and stuff like that to nail your ass.
Honest, most of them can really do that.

Also, I realize it's a pain, but asking every day people like us to serve
keeps the lawyers and judges on their p's and q's. They can't predict what
a jury of everyday people will do, no matter how hard they work their game.

A jury is the only thing that stands between a ripoff and a fair shake.
To people who work in the courts, it's just another case. To the people
involved, and the jury, it's time better spent elsewhere!! So, they get serious about the thing.
Yeah, I know- "let somebody else do it." But there it is for you to consider. No, I'm not a lawyer. But legal is a game I know well.

Bottom line? Reschedule. Show up. Get out of it-or not.
But don't ignore it. Those law types got ways of bustin' your ass
that you can't even imagine, and you won't be able to shake it
unless you get a lawyer, and got money. You don't wanna go there.

You should show them your username and photo on here. All I can say is haha @ a blackhatter in court and on the 'jury' side. No wonder we have a screwy justice system. I'm kidding, i am.

I remember when we had to pick one of my juries they asked the jurors a series of questions. Some of them were like "Would you trust the word of A police officer just because he is a police officer ?", "Do you think that you can be unbiased ?", "Do you have any medical illnesses that would stop you from serving on the jury ?"

People were answering some of the questions the worng way just so they could be sent home. So just do that.
