First off, I would like to announce that I am completely serious about this and it is my passion. I started out working a minimum wage job and I made a decent amount of money there before I left. After that, I started researching alternative ways to make money online and I came across internet marketing. I've tried IM for a year and gave up; it was simply too difficult for me and I did not have the necessary funds required to be successful. While it is possible to to make money without spending money; Money sure does make it easier.

I self-studied the stock market; I am very interested in it however it requires a lot of money. I'm actually good with stocks and know a good one when I see one. With some money that I have tucked away, I've decided that I should invest. However, it isn't enough money to get going successfully in the stock market, so I've decided to invest into IM now that I will actually have the money and time to do so. I realized that IM is my passion because my dream is to have free-time. I don't want to be noticed on a national level, I don't want to be some famous pop-star, I want to have free-time to research what I enjoy and do the things that I want to do. I realized that IM is the key for me to unlock the cage to my dream. In addition, I absolutely adore marketing and computers; It's a perfect combination for me. I am very computer savvy and can pick up new concepts easily in relation to computers. In college I will be studying Computer Information Systems or Computer Science and will hold a job in that field until I can self-sustain myself on my private business ventures. After all the times I've failed, I guess I learned a bit.

I've made some money online writing articles, but I want to move on to something different where I can get some passive/residual income. I've researched a few methods such as PPD, CPA, and PPC. I would like to acquire more knowledge in these fields; I really want to know what I am doing before I get into something. I've also considered selling IM services to website owners, as well as starting an Amazon store. I have a few questions if any professionals / people with adequate knowledge are willing to answer:

    1) What did you start out with? Were you successful?

    2) What would you consider the minimum amount you need to invest to actually produce income?

    3) Is Amazon still booming? I hear good things about it.

    4) How can I develop an appropriate plan of action? I need to pick something and stick with it.

    5) How can I effectively use my time and how much time should I dedicate? (I will have a fair amount of time to dedicate anyway)

    6) Any books/free e-books you recommend?

I would like to offer my thanks for reading this thread. I hope others such as I feel a passion for IM, as well as the passion to be free. If there is any advice I can give to you; live below your means in the beginning. Be wise with your money; but not always frugal. Frugality is important, but it is not everything. It's okay to go out once and a while. I plan to open an Amazon store and use mass advertising because it seems to have a lot of success in this forum. (After I research keywords of course!)

Yes, I will use the search button, and am doing so now. :)

EDIT: I guess this wasn't so much of a plan of action; But if you still read it that'd be nice.

Can you build simple websites? And write content for them? I might have a job for you.

And you don't need money mate. I went from $0-XX,XXX's a month in a year. You just gotta find your niche

I appreciate the offer greatly; but I'm looking to start something on my own. I still need to learn all the major blogging platforms such as Wordpress/Blogger so I probably wouldn't be of much use.

Wow, that's absolutely amazing. It just takes a lot of money to get domain names, hosting, and all those other SEO services y'know? Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. (Took out the URL in this post because I can't post URLs)

EDIT: Wow, that method makes A LOT of money if you get it set up right.

Sometimes even a hyper-overly-satured niche can be enought for you to make an easy 4 figure daily (and stable) income.

You have free hosting, domains at 99 cents, and knowledge, keeping it short:
Try out a couple things, try a month of CPA, another month of Amazon, another mont of Fiverr, it wont cost you more than 10 bucks anyway.

Wait, what? Free hosting and domains at 99 cents? Is this hosting free all the time or do I have to pay after x amount of time?

My main barrier to entry was costs here. A lot of the time I have to save some money but ~$10 isn't a big deal.

Wow, I'm about ready to slap myself for not knowing this. I could have started so long ago...

So companies such as 000webhosting, Hostizzo, and Freehostia allow you to host websites for free? Are they able to take control of your website without warning or shut it down? Even for a year+? I'll probably move to hostgator later because they probably provide better and more reliable hosting.

It all depends on the contract, but I have some sites that I created back in 2008 in freehostia that are still there, but keep in mind that backups is something that you have to do even with top-tier paid hosting (what if the company goes kaboom?), so it really doesn't matter, as long as you have a local copy of your files (again: something that you have to do even with paid hosting) you are good to go.

I'd say one of the most important things to do is finally jump in. Lots of people just skirt the edges and don't get their feet wet... always learning but never leaping. That's no good you gotta start. Dive in headlong, keep monthly expenses as close to $0 as possible (see above hosting tips) and learn at breakneck speed. Good luck

Those sites of yours are stilling running and making money? That's quite interesting; I think my first venture may involve a 99c domain w/ free hosting.

This 2008 site was never born with the intention of profit (I was only 12 in 2008), but even thougth my account is cancelled (3 months with 0 hits), my files are still there, all I need to do is to reactivate my account and then I'm good to go.

Dude, just go for it, you can find some GoDaddy 99c domain coupons here on BHW.

Here you can find a decent free web hosting:
Google: Hostizzo (BHW don't let me put my reff link, nor the normal link)

Take action, your dream of freedom is literally over your fingertips, all you need to do is press then correctly ; - ).

Wow, I'm both overjoyed that I can get free hosting (which was my main issue because it was expensive) and angry that I haven't started sooner. So these free hosting websites allow CPA/Adsense all that stuff?

Thanks so much man, I'm so happy tonight. Going to start formulating a plan this week. I think I'll start with Amazon :)!

EDIT: Can I still do Amazon if I'm 17? If not what can I do if I'm not 18?

Yes they all let you put your own ads in it (this is even the selling point of Hostizzo), about Amazon, well I don't know, Amazon just came to Brazil in 2012 and I didn't really payed that heck of attention.
