I am starting a new website, so I bought the domains today and there was a typo and I bought the a .com and a .info for it and I didn't even notice. Now I have to buy them all over again. I know it's not a lot of money, but I'm really pissed that I have to buy it again and now those other domains are useless! Do you know if you can get a refund from godaddy?

I just had to let this out because it's really pissing me off!

sorry if I wasted 1 minute of your life

ouch sorry to hear that, maybe you can convince someone else they are valuable? or maybe if your site gets big people will accidentally type in that name

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear so. Here is the info from the godaddy website:

What if I misspelled my domain when I registered it?

Unfortunately, we are unable to change or edit the spelling of a domain after it has been registered. We try to register the domain exactly as you enter it. Should the registration succeed, you are charged, even if the domain you entered was not what you actually intended to type.

You do have the option of cancelling the domain so that it is no longer registered to you, but cancelling does not entitle you to a refund of any part of your registration fee. Cancelling a domain is a permanent action.

Cut your losses and post on http://www.reggingdrunk.com/ :p

That's why I use Dynadot mostly now, so if I make a mistake a can return the domain and get a refund within 120 hours of buying it :D

Agreed. Just park the typo error domains.

Good advice above regarding parking.

I did this same thing 12 years ago when domains cost quite a bit more than they do today. Unfortunately there was no parking, typo error domain market, or much of any domain market back then. I guess I made 3 stupid mistakes in a row way back then.

Not so fast.

Think about it, if you made a typo other may as well so keep them alive just in case.

you can get a refund.i myself got a refund.
just mail them saying you registered wrong domains, and want to cancell them.
but you should do so in first 5 days.
just mail them with details and they will cancel it for you.

You have 5 days to get a refund. Contact your registrar and tell them you made a mistake.
Most of the big registrars will cancel the domains so you can register the correct names.

thanks, I'm going to try that.

I don't know what's the name of your domain but since it costs peanuts I wouldn't sell it. There's a chance people will try to access your website by typing it wrong just like you did so why sell it? A lot of companies have typos registered. Just use a redirection.

I contacted godaddy and they said that they will give me a refund, but it will take 48 hrs or them to review it

Don't forget that Godaddy is offering $1.99 domains right now. Use the search function to find the coupon code.

Godaddy rocks. Pretty cheap and decent pricing. Besides that, the godaddy models are hot!
