I don't know why I do not rank on page 1 with better stats than competitor sites

Ok so I just want to be on page 1 and I compared my site's stats to 2 of the last results on page 1 for a term.

I do have a lower domain rank, but by only 2. Site 1 has domain rank 80, site 2 has domain rank 69. And finally 67 being my domain rank.
I have far more social media likes and shares
far more ref domains, ref .gov domains, .edu domains, far more .gov backlinks .edu backlinks and so on.

What could be the explanation that I'm not on page 1 and these are. Is domain rank 69 that much higher than 67?
What actions can I take to beat these competitors?

Domain Rank has very little to do with rankings. Odds are they are ranking because they have better links pointing to those pages or because they are more authoritative domains. Pages from authority sites can outrank pages with tons of links based on their authority alone. I got knocked from #1 to #3 because two authority sites posted brand new articles targeting my keyword. Nothing I can do but wait for them to drop away.

How long have you been trying to rank for that keyword? Where do you actually rank? Page 2?

PM me your website and the keyword you are trying to rank for and maybe I can see what you need.

There are many factors to consider. J
