Although the title is not related to me. It will relate to millions of people this christmas! These could be the words of a teenager whos going to be living in the streets and snow this christmas!

So at this time of the year i would like and encourage everyone to think about homeless people this time of the year.
Donate to somewhere even a small amount, or even a blanket or duvet or hand money to someone that you see in the streets who looks poor.

This is one of the worst times for a homeless person as im sure you could well imagine they well know its christmas, they probably think more about there families and old memories of being in a hot and warm house and eating a lot of food.

So come on guys we are blackhat but we have a heart.

Lets change a lot of peoples lives and every little helps!

A moments googling to find somewhere to donate too is moments away. Took me minutes.

P.S Sorry for misleading title but i had too :)

Good Post Harro, I actually donate items and time in my local area. Its unbelievable how much of a difference you make in peoples lives when you just give a few minutes.

Also as an ex military man we get 2 toys ( 1 for girl, 1 for boy) for the toys for tots program

It gives you a whole other look on your life as well and makes you thankful about what you do have and not cry about what you dont have.

Exactly even spending a little time working in old peoples homes would rock!
Every little counts. We are Blackhat but personally i think we are the most generous people on the planet.

Thats my idea anyway minus the rippers/scammers they are not blackhat they are asshats :)

I agree with you on all but the idea of handing money to someone on the streets who looks poor. That helps no one. I don't know where you're from exactly, and maybe it's a different quality of people there, but around here that's the equivalent of leaving food out on your floor for the cockroaches. You'll see them again, and nothing will have changed for them. I know that sounds harsh, and maybe it is, but it's the reality I see.

I do advocate working in a soup kitchen, homeless shelter, old folks home, etc. The people you find in places such as those are much more likely to actually appreciate what you are doing and the time you are giving to them. Even finding a charity to simply donate to is great, if you don't have the time to volunteer anywhere, but if you can find an organization that you are willing to donate both time AND money too, it's always a little more fulfilling to me, as you then know exactly what it is you're really donating money for.

Well the homeless guys in the streets in our city and that im sure is different to others. Ive watched them get money and go straight for a meal. Usually you would expect them to buy alchohol but they really are hungry.

Ofcourse this wont change there homelessness tomorrow or the next day. But its christmas and everyone deserves a small gift at christmas no matter if it lasts forever or not.

If everyone who ran a business brought a homeless person in from the streets and employed them and gave them a place to stay. That could totally change a life. But thats unrealistic to say everyone would do something like that. Wishful thinking but you can attempt to help.

Great title to the post and got me reading :)

As much as everyone should be more generous at this time of year with their time/money for those less fortunate, we must not forget the rest of the year where the majority of us are comfortable with our $xx-xxxx a day earnings and don't stop to think about others.

If everyone donated just 1% of their monthly earnings to a charity or other good cause, there would be far less suffering and less. Remember, it's not just Christmas these guys and girls are out on the streets.

I personally see my charitable donations as a bit of good karma, to make up for the blackhat stuff I do on a daily basis.

I work on a campaign to help street kids and every christmas, I try to raise some money to buy them presents. That is probably the nicest part of my Christmas. The joy just to get a soft toy or things like new shoes.

We should count ourselves very lucky.

Nice post Harro. I'm definitely going to be donating my time this year as well as a few bucks to the children. I'm in Brazil and the number of homeless children here is absurd. I hope everyone here at BHW finds the kindness in their heart to donate either your time, food, money, gifts or even old clothes.

I'm going to make some food before christmas and package it up, and give some of it to the homeless :). Give em ziplock container variety full of food and drinks.

I usually make a meal to feed 50 people around this time of year, and donate it to the soup kitchen.

    Mmm Meatloaf.
