i can't understand rankings anymore. Why google ranks a more difficult keyword better than an easier one? Advice anyone?

How is it possible to rank better for a keyword you're not targeting but rank a lot worse for the main targeted keyword?

This is just an example:

YYY Bluetooth review 2020 (with keyword difficulty 34 but only 300 search volume in ahrefs) ranks 1.

YYY Bluetooth review (keywords difficulty 11 and 4000 volume search in ahrefs) ranks in 91.

I can't understand it.

Less competition, technical glitch, AI thinks it’s better for you to rank so many factors

KD should be used as a first indicator, nothing more. Always check SERPS manually to see what you are up against. A lot of times, KD only doesn't make sense.

So in my experience my main keyword have search volume of 500k traffic but the keyword difficulty of 17. Do not trust metric blindly. You need to have good backlinks for exact term you are targeting if you really want to rank high volume keywords. Usually I treat high volume keyword as the difficulty score. More volume more difficult to rank and needs more budget
