When did you do that? Wait it out a bit, dont expect to rank immediately.

That's normal. You just redirect the traffic, not the rank.

Where you get that from? Accordingly to this you are redirecting rankings along with traffic.

    301 redirects pass rankings.

OP how long has it been? Could take a week or 2.

Its not going to rank for the keywords that it used to rank for - because the redirect is going to your site and on your site the content is not the same - so I am guessing that Google is going to realize that and adjust keyword ranking accordingly.

Having said that you should still receive a boost from any backlinks that point to that domain that you have redirected because the juice from those links will be forwarded to your site - assuming those links are not removed.

That will take time though so you need to wait a few weeks.

Also keep in mind that should be just a small part of your overall strategy, its not enough on its own to rank your site.

If I were you, i will start worrying after 1 to 3 months.
But like the person above me said, if the content on your homepage is different, you might not rank for the terms.

This is the answer. Your content is different you won't rank the same for all the same keywords. You still get juice from the backlinks that were pointing to the domain though and they are probably niche relevant too so they are going to help.
