I'm not vegetarian but I've had a long standing wish that at least the meat industry would have better practices and cleanliness. Not only do they torture animals but the FILTH! Even if it means a higher cost of meat. We should have much much better standards about how we treat food animals. Good share.

Edit to say, buy from farmers direct if you can, I see it as a lesser evil. I live in a country spot myself but whenever I see an old man on the side of the road selling little batches of farm eggs I get them. Not only are they cheaper and tastier but you're also supporting locals instead of the big guys. I've never seen a small farm treat chickens like what's shown in the video.

I grew up in a small country house. We supplemented our food supply by raising and slaughtering chickens and rabbits. Although they were killed humanely. They were killed for food nonetheless and in all likelihood we would have starved without them. We as humans have isolated ourselves from nature but if you ever found yourself back in it you'd be quoting Vincent Vega "bacon taste good, pork chops taste good".

yea man, sure it sucks but hell just try not to worry about it to much. just go to micky d's, get yourself a burger and have yourself a coke and a smile then just get on with your life. I just try not to think about how the steak or whatever got on my plate and just think about how delicious it is. I also try to steer clear of vids like this.

    Some Stats:
1.53 billion cows in the world
1 bullion pigs in the world
Couldn't find any info on chickens but since cows are sacred animals in some countries and Muslims don't eat pork I guess the number is even greater.

These are not natural numbers the only reason that there are so many of these species is because we let them reproduce in a safe environment. Do you honestly believe that if all of us stopped eating meet we will just let more than 2 bullion farm animals to roam free and eat everything in their way ( including your precious veggies) ? I'm sorry to break this to you mate but those animals will be killed either way....

Do yourself a favour and buy your meat from local farms (grass fed meat if you can get it).

You'll pay a little more than supermarket meat, but the taste is amazing and you'll know that your food was treated humanely.

If you really want to push the boat out, start buying raw milk too!
