I am stuck at 20th positon SEO FRANCE

Hi All,

I have a question about my webshop. Some time ago I bought this domain and got some backlinks by searching them manualy.
I took me alot of time but it paied off I went from 40th place to 20th place.
Now its stuck on this serp and hope you can me all the advice to give it a push.

I am working with woocommerce and using yoast seo plugin.
it a french webshop that is verry comptetive.


all advice is welcome but please tell me how and what needs to be done.

It depends how you done SEO, anchors,backlinks...
 
Since you are using woocommerce I am going to assume that it's an eCommerce website.

1. Did you optimize all of your product images and make sure they were unique?
2. Are you using an SSL connection or have that little fancy green bar?
3. How long are your product descriptions?

Take into account that eCommerce websites generally have very little content compared to other styles of
websites. So I would focus on onsite optimization an adding more content first.

You can always pick up some links along the way, but first you need to make sure your website is tight!

It is an ecommerce website with an emd.
Back in the days it was easy to rank but lately its stuck.
Internal SEO is done product description and images are unique.
SSL is not used yet but now you are talking about it its a reminder to do it.

the product descriptions are short.

I use a blog to inform about the product and tried to get on that way some traffic.
 
I recommend Comodo SSL, they also have 3 months free trial.

I would be making sure that the alt tags for your images reflect the KWs you are targeting, the image names as well but using a variation of the alt tag name.

I would also make the image descriptions a decent length (125 - 150 is fine for images themselves).

Then, once that is done properly, I would target the image pages with backlinks. If the image pages are done properly that usually helps an ecommerce site all things considered.

As to using the blog, I would add content there daily and link to your inner pages on your site. You can backlink the blog pages as well if you see that as a need as you move forward.

SEO is an art, not a science so you'll need to do a variety of things to see what makes YOUR site move in the proper direction as well as to see what keeps YOUR site there.

An EMD used to be a very easy thing to rank and Google favored that. The algorithm has since changed
and you can go through another layer of the algorithm with an EMD. Still it helps overall, but you won't
find as much special treatment with it like back in the day.

Now that we have gotten the first bit out of the way I am going to ask you some more questions.

1. When you say short, how short are the descriptions?
2. Besides these backlinks did you manage to diversify your portfolio with other link types?

For the SSL you can basically go with anyone you please. Personally I like http://www.verisign.com/ which
is now a part of Norton. It's pricey compared to the other ones, but your average shoppers know Norton
and it increases buyer confidence in my opinion.
 
Can you advice an seo company? got scammed on freelancer so just curious for french seo
 
The descriptions are verry short between 20 to 40 words.
Backlinks is only thing done by myself I hired a guy from freelancer who did article seo but messed up.
French website all english articles.

Lately I have been turned off by the "Advise me on a good SEO Agency" style questions. Usually it turns into a
"Hey look at me" type of thing and well there's not much tact or professionalism in that.

I wouldn't hire someone from a freelancer website to take care of my long term SEO needs Chamek.
What we do for our clients is accept foreign sites and work out the anchor text placement for you even though its a French website.

That way you still get a credible boost while the articles remain in English. So look in the direction of finding
agencies and services that accept foreign websites. Most of what you will find here are services based in English.

Edit: 20-40 words? Increase that on up to about 300-500 words for each product description. Make them look like
an Amazon description or eBay store listing. Content writers for people who sell on Amazon usually do 500 word
articles for the products. :)

What I am seeing here is plenty of room for improvement. That is actually a good thing! Because it means you have made
it to the upper end of the SERPS and still have plenty of tweaking to do. The real killer is when you max out most options
and are still stuck in a competitive niche. Usually that's when you need to invest a lot more paper.

What I like about SEO because its not just single way to do it. It takes time and motivation to reach a goal. Only the people with an proper strategy will reach their goal. What do you think abou socialmedia and traffic? The description is short because it an deal website.
 
been checking the ssl providers really big price differences. Would an service for 5 usd a year be enough?

Thinking in terms of a process is a smart way to go about it. Like BassTrackerBoats said....SEO is an Art and not a
complete science. So you find what works for you and make that your process.

A site without social media is unhealthy and you are leaving money on the table. That is a different topic altogether.
We have a social media section here where you can find guidance. I use Facebook a ton along with my SEO. Not to
mention the fact social signals never hurt anything.

Could you please elaborate on a "deal website" so that I can get a clear picture?
 
i'm from france too , but i prefer social marketing & paid ads for my e-commerce site , for SEO i'm just focus on content ( unique description , install review plugin and make some review with keywords , install a blog and post some tips / reviews / articles about products )
