    Hi
with all the negative link thing that google has done in their recent updates, I am scared of building backlinks, because i dont know if it will end up making my rankings worse.
before, worst case was that a link didnt count. now it can have negative value, that sucks.
and I dont think this is just a rumor. This past week I made 20 web 2.0's and I blasted them using SB. I did not directly blast my money site, just the web 2.0's, and my site ended up disappearing off the face of the planet.
so I am scared of doing anything. how do I know if a link will have a positive or negative effect?

Try to focus on building reputable back links. This means edus, govs, relevant high prs, wikis, etc. You don't want to blast your site or tiers with too much spammy crap.

If that happens stop blasting them with Scrapebox. You would probably be better off just making the 2.0's. Now more than ever you just have to be really careful making sure that all of your links come from good sites. So if you are using scrapebox and one of the links happens to come from a "bad neighborhood" site, than that could have been what killed you.

    Just my thoughts

    Hope this helps

I know I want links from "good" sites and not "bad" sites, but how do I know if a site is good or bad?
and how am I supposed to get my web 2.0's indexed without SB?

It is pretty highly unlikely that your site disappeared due to the SB blast to the web 2.0 properties that linked to your site. What you are probably noticing is known as Google dance. Are you able to find your site using ?site:http://mysite.com? in Google?

yes, i can. This site has an interesting history. It is an EMD and it ranked with few backlinks. Then I did xrumer+SB a few months ago and it disappeared for like 5 months. Then it came back last week! Then I did the web 2.0 blast and it disappeared again.

Did you let Google find the links or did you ping them all??

Its all good mate, nothing much to worry about at this point in time. The mysterious disappearance of your site can be attributed to Google Dance!

Links are always good if they are placed in right place. Have your backlinks created in high PR blogs, social sites and ignore the low PR's and crappy sites. After penguin update, backlink count doesn't really matter and is the quality it matters. It's not a major worry as far as you create links from good sources.
