I am looking to build a Software Directory

I want to build a software directory like G2 for example (https://www.g2.com/products/semrush/reviews). I want to build it in Wordpress.

I have looked for directoy themes but none adapt, they have too many things I don't need.

What is the best way to achieve such a result? Any theme recomendations? Should I build a custom one?

definitely make a custom one, would be tricky and take several months but if you are a developer then that's the best choice, unless you know already wordpress development theme and plugins. But then you have total development control, and can react to changes in the industry, and create your own unique footprint. Check, git hub though, or youtube tutorials, they often have hidden gems in them to get started.
