Doing this 'internet stuff' is all fine and dandy, but the lack of interaction that a 'normal' job provides is making me really depressed.

    Agreed.

Whatever excuse that you come up with for why you do this instead of socialize is just that - an excuse. They may be legit. Don't let it get you down, work hard and Know that it will pay off. Not only with money, but with opportunity to do the things you want to do. :)

Yeah bro - thats all part of being your own boss - My advice - Limit the amount of time you are on the net to say - 2 or 3 hoours a day. Then use the other time to explore more socially orientating activities, like sports, girls etc (or boys or whatever {LOL} ). just dont sit on the computer all day and expect to have any kind of life the screen does not provide. Life is for the living so GET OUT THERE and have some FUN !!!

I don't agree. If you were to limit yourself to 2-3 hours per day (to begin with) then you would most likely fail. This industry requires you to have no limits. Also if you're worried about being alone, then I think you lack the dedication to this as well. This is not a game. It's not a joke. This is where people make a living.

Or you could play World of Warcraft and get that faux sense of human interaction via raids and what not............. /sarcasm

I fully agree. You have to work your ass off and get yourself earning steady. Automate it and then you will have time to get out and enjoy yourself. But most people didn't play around when it came to more "conventional" work, and people that start their own business have to work even more and make the sacrifices. That's just the way its done, or win the lottery.

Bosses and fellow employees suck. I've had enough of both to last several lifetimes. I enjoy the fact that I only have to interact w/ other ppl when I want to now. If I want to talk to someone I go grab a few beers. Every ones different though and some people really need to be around others. IM is a tough gig if that's the way your wired.

I don't know... the type of interaction I got from a "normal job" I can do without. Just decide what you want to do and do it. Today was a nice day here so I decided to go find some good running shoes with the gf. Wasted 4 hours.. good times.

Besides, how many "normal jobs" will let you enjoy some fine Sierra Nevada Pale Ale while working? :)

I have a lot of hobbies.

Having a day job kills the time I spend on them.

I'm doing this, cuz I wanna have time to do other things I love.

When you have fun hobbies, you generally meet other people a lot. If you're good at what you do, a lot of people enjoy getting to know you.

If you don't have any interaction, you're doing something wrong. And it's probably you.

I also don't suck at walking right up to people and having a conversation.:)

Here is a 10 step program to get rid of your loneliness... GUARANTEED TO WORK OR, IT WILL WORK!!!

Treat it like a real job...
Get up at a decent hour do some work.
Call some friends and arrange a lunch meeting or just to go catch up.
Come back and work till about 5 or 6pm
Go to the gym for an hour (talk to some girls)
    Come home and shower
    Work for another hour
Pour some red bull and vodka and call your boys and some chicks to go out
Go out and socialize (don't booze too hard, you gotta do it again tomorrow)
EAT SOMETHING before you sleep and drink lots of water

Follow this method at least 2-3 days a week and every saturday and you will see a big difference... (Don't really do it everyday - That would be crazy!!!)

I think you catch the drift

i love not working with people directly.
you work in an office and there are a lot of sneaky backstabbing brown nosers who love the office politics... you work directly with customers and they are sometimes unreasonable dicks. the best job i had was reconditioning brakes for buses and coaches when i was 16 - there was just 2 of us in this tiny workshop working our arses of with the music blasting.
    Everyones different i guess :)
