Last night I found a cool thread on here that gave a pretty simple "hit list" of tasks to get to the top of the SEs. These were things like:

Create a Google Group with your keyword in the title
Create a Yahoo Group with your keyword in the tittle
etc....

I thought I bookmarked it but today I can't find it and my searches for terms that I thought were in the thread have not helped.

Anyone have any ideas?

That is only part of his information. He has an ebook somewhere in one of his threads that you can access and download - You should get that too.
The ebook had a much longer list of things to do to optimize and rule your keywords of choice as well as some type of marketing plan and a q&a that will help you narrow down what you want out of your business.

There is no sure shot method... and you have to do things multiple times before you actually get results. So make sure you don't stop when you hit your first roadblock.
