As per the title, really. I didn't read closely enough and prepaid for about 3 years. I'm not an internet marketer and I don't need this level of hosting. I'm wondering if I can make some of the money back by hosting others' websites, but I obviously couldn't give them cPanel access. Any ideas?

Thanks, this is a great community!

You can ask the hosting provider for refund. What you bought shared or dedicated Hosting?

Don't be greedy. No one will pay you to host their sites without cPanel access.

If you don't need the hosting yourself, ask for a refund and move on.

I currently monetize a unlimited shared hosting plan by creating websites for small businesses and providing them hosting. These guys get low amounts of traffic and thus make little difference being on the shared hosting plan and they generally lack the tech savvy to even sign up for their own websites. You can also use it as a testing ground for your website projects. If you know how to make a wordpress site and can talk, you can probably sell websites with an added benefit of hosting.

    Good luck!

Not unless you are planning on building out a ton of sites yourself. Best option will be to ask for a refund. If they wont give refund then just look at it as a one time business cost for the next few years.

Refund as everyone else is suggesting. OR, spend some weeks here on bhw, absorb the knowledge and implement.

Thanks for the advice. About the refund option: I bought it some time ago and didn't notice so I doubt getting a refund is an option. It's not a large amount of money, so I'm not desperate to get it back.

Hosting and developing a WordPress site for a small business might be possible. I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.

damn, that blows. My suggestion is an amazon affiliate site lol. Seems to be the easiest to bank on, make a few of those.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! This is in many ways a bit of a Hail Mary on my part and I understand if it comes across as a bit cheap. Still, there are some great suggestions I might be able to learn a bit from (like creating a Amazon affiliate site) so I might just do that!

To those asking, it's Bluehost and I paid around $350 USD
