In a strange move, hydra networks on March 10th announced that they dumbed some 88% of their affiliates. Making the once largest affiliate network, not so large anymore. In their press release they mentioned they went from "17,000 publishers down to 2,000 of their best performing affiliates."

In wake of bankruptsy filings last year, that almost put the company out of business, there is a lot of questions surounding if this was the best move for the company. They are clearly moving away from the affiliates that were responsible for many years of positive growth to their network.

"In its ongoing efforts to raise the bar on CPA advertising, Hydra has also established higher quality and compliance standards that advertisers must meet in order to gain access to Hydra's distribution platform and suite of services. Recent advertisers that have taken advantage of the Hydra platform include AT&T, Aegon, Hotwire and other well-known brands."

And according to their affiliate pannel, "Hydra?s new, more stringent membership requirements call for affiliates that earn at least $10,000 a month with a good track record at a major affiliate network."

Definitely not pumping 10G through Hydra and I still have my account. In fact I have not ran anything in months. Wonder when mine will get shut down?
