Hurghada (Egypt) - I’m going for a few weeks in March. Best 3/4g provider?

I’m having a holiday thats tied in with a couple of meetings in Hurghada in March.

The hotel claims it has WiFi but the reviews are claiming the lobby is the only place for WiFi etc.

I won’t be paying UK roaming fees.

Who is the best 3G data people in Egypt? I’m hoping I can get a sim with some data to chuck away once I’m back for the UK. Mainly for hotspot

Go for WE its cost 150 pond 20 gb, sim kost like 120 pond or somthing,
by the way i am living in Safaga 20 min whit car from Hurghada,
if you need annything just ask

Egyptian pound? Do they sell sims at the airport?

There should be local shops that will sell these.
I used to holiday at El Gouna ( loved it so much we looked to move out there to live a few years back ). Can't recall who the company was for the sims we used, but the hotels had great Wi-Fi there too. I have a feeling then it was Etisalat .
 
Doesnt ur current provider allow overseas roaming for a little extra?

Crazy that vodafine etc are out their but they won't let a UK person roam data on the same network lol.

I think I'm para after reviews of the hotel are saying that wifi doesn't reach the rooms
 
i wouldve thought ud be fine. i mean im from australia and im with vodaphone and we can use vodaphone in america, china, germany etc, and we are like the furthest country from everywhere else
 
Interested in this as well, going there in May. You should reschedule your flight in May so we can have a beer at the beach :)

Back to the original topic, i was researching on this as well and i also came out with damn expensive solutions. And i mean very damn expensive, lol

Ah I’ve booked now. I think I’ll just go the hotel first, I’ll have three days to sort a sim if WiFi doesn’t hit the rooms etc.

I don’t like the idea that the retailers take passport details there for a throwaway sim lol. I only want data for backup internet for emails etc

Ended up going to Vodafone, 20g and decent coverage for about 1020 Egyptian pounds. Not bad with the haweui dongle.

Ar you in hurgada nowe, if you wanne grap a thee, or hanging out at the beach talking about BHW or somthing, or if you have anny problems call me, i live in Safaga its like 15 min by car, i hope you i hope you like Hurghada,

Just got back from quads etc. I’m loving Hurgada now I’m getting used to saying no to the locals trying to sell me everything ha.

Kinda wished I just bought euros instead of Egyptian pound though

Back in UK tomorrow. It was good and quad biking over deserts at night, scuba diving and visiting the mosques etc was awesome.

However the shop owners are a nightmare as soon as they see a tourist, they’re on you and will not leave you alone.

After a few days you get pretty hardened to them, you have to be nearly rude or blanket ignore them.

It was a good break away though, too much sand though ha
 
i hate those sellers, its like me but online, hahhahaha hate this relly to in hurghada, walk dont stop
