I have a SSL cert setup on one of my sites and unfortunately I'm forced to open an http element from another site. As a result I do not have the green lock due to this one element. Will not having a green lock effect SEO or does that not matter as long as the site is encrypted?

I have the same problem with one of my sites. It can affect bounce rate as the message people receive varies from browser to browser.
Less tech savvy people tend to just leave because of the warning of unsecured items.

Crap, I didn't think about that. I haven't seen any messages pop up on Chrome, FF, or Safari. Are there any browsers in particular that you are referring to?

My issue is an image source that needs to be hosted by one particular site.

It's not something that can be fixed because i need my site to open the http site causing the issue. As long as it's not effecting SEO it shouldn't be much of an issue.

Not an SEO issue today, but Google has been hinting at taking away your HTTPS bonus if you have mixed secure and insecure references.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll just keep pushing the other site owner to get SSL setup so it's no longer an issue for me.

As discussed bounce above the only problem can be bounce rate nothing else.
