"In a lengthy investigation, staffers in the FTC?s bureau of competition found evidence that Google boosted its own services for shopping, travel and local businesses by altering its ranking criteria and ?scraping? content from other sites."

Well google is google's products, why cant they show what they want? If I was google I would do that same thing...

Now scraping content they are wrong for but if google wants to put their stuff higher in THEIR search engine who can stop them?

They could have just boosted themselves with Googles Ads on the house. But no, not enough, have to fuck up competition too :)

Didn't we all know that, already? Lawmakers don't want to hurt Google as it provides great information about citizens to law enforcement. It's well known government agencies are the biggest beneficiaries of Google's misconduct and host offices inside the company. Therefore they keep on getting away with malpractice every day.
