So google says there is nothing a competitor can do to hurt your rankings. This is true to a certain extent unless they are getting links from questionable places.

This is what you do: find the sites you want to target and do some backlink research on them to see where their links are coming from. If the links look like paid links then you can report it to google.

Google will then investigate it and then if they see something that is questionable then they will invalidate the links (ie. treat them as no follow).

I recently did this to a competitor who was on the page 1 results for months. I reported the links last month and I just checked the keyword again. The competitor dropped to the 2nd page(around rank 18-20)! How funny is that? Then again the links I reported was from a pr 5 site that has 10s of thousands of pages. Their link was sitewide. Ouch. Should be interesting to see how google treats that site from now on seeing as how I reported paid links pointing to the site lol.

I don't think you're going to get the reaction from everyone around here that you were expecting to get. The website you trashed could easily be owned by someone on the forum.

It's actually not funny at all btw.

While this is indeed a Blackhat forum. There is still some level of honour which means do not CHEAT, SCAM OR SNITCH on your fellow blackhatters.

How funny will it be when Karma comes back and bites you when you're least expecting it?

Whether you believe it or not, someone can do the above and worse to your own rankings, so don't think you're so smart.

Black Hat techniques can be used in many ways. IMHO they should be used to game the search engines to improve your site's ranking, not perform negative SEO trickery to destroy a competitor - aka Brown Hat. :)

Its fair game bud. I want to get to the top of the rankings and if I have to step on others on the way up then you better get outta my way!

could happen. Mind you, this technique only works on sites where you can PROVE that the links appear, "shady." For this particular site, the guy's highest pr links were most likely bought. So I used that weakness to my advantage.

It's bullshit, bud. Enjoy having your negative rep. Keep that high ego of yours. In the end you're gonna piss someone here to the point where he gives a shit enough to track down all your sites and does the same to you or Xrumer them with 10 million shit links.

Please remember your statement if you get torpedoed by a competitor. Don't come on here whining about how your money site got slammed by some competitor.

There are plenty of ways to get to the top with black hat without crossing that line.

Well, good luck with that because I've built my sites with mostly whitehat techniques. If people find the blackhat links then its fair game to report them. It honestly won't affect my ranking much if anything at all.
