How would you promote your own music?

Let’s say I have a YouTube channel with a few thousand authentic subscribers, and I wanted to start making music. How would I promote that music within the YouTube platform, or rather in general across all social media platforms?

I use instagram to promote my piano covers: follow/unfollow with a bot & Deep targeting

How’s exactly do you do this? Do you target a popular artists followers? Or someone with a similar aesthetic? Botting seems to do nothing for me, even when I target super specifically

I make X and Y covers BUT only for people who are from a specific country, so i have almost 0 competition. I target people who like X and Y and follow those kind of pages.

Replace X and Y with the genre/niche you're into and try

This sounds interesting, if you don’t mind could you inbox me with a little more detail? I get what you’re saying, be super specific when targeting an audience so that there’s little to no competition

1. Social media influencer promotion
2. Bot commenting and conversations to make it seem legitimate as a recommendation opposed to “yo check my mixtape”
3. Outreach to music blogs and develop a relationship as your music progresses, because statistically most people are absolutely awful
4. Get your branding together and build a fb group that lets you act as a test market.
5. Get sponsored posts from music pages that work well.
6. Partner with music groups.

I’m going to launch a JV for this soon as an overseer. These are just the basics that work but there so much that goes into it research and development wise.

Just some food for thought I wanted to share.

If you are wanting to be serious about a music career and not just make a quick buck, do the below:
  • Make your music as easily accessible as possible.
  • Upload music to iTunes/Spotify via TuneCore or similar
  • Create your Spotify Artist page
  • Submit songs for playlist review within Spotify Artist page
  • Create a pre-save campaign using ToneDen (or similar)
In terms of promoting, the best thing you can do is creating an Artist Instagram page and twitter. Be active on twitter, find people in your local scene and follow similar bands fans - converse with them. On Instagram use the follow/unfollow targeting similar bands, try to aim small as smaller bands typically have people who are more likely to be interested in finding new upcoming artists. Don't spam message, wait a few days before unfollow and like people's photos.

Wow, useful information right here. Thank you!

Ask me the specific question and I'll try to give a detailed answer

There's a lot of options in general when it comes to YouTube. As suggested here, try out what has already been said and make sure your Artist name is the same across all platforms so you can be easy to find if people like or are interested in your music.
