So, I'm looking forward to starting a personal development/body transformation blog. As I want to compete at the Powerlifting World's next year, I would like to start a blog where I can write my journey as welll as other motivational things.

The problem is that I don't have any idea how should I promote such a project?
SEO? I really doubt it as I am looking forward to writing more for the visitors and less for the search engines.
Social Media? It seems a good idea, so I could use some advices.

    Anything else, please?

Social media is probably the way to go for you. Check out this chick's YouTube channel, she has tons of followers both on YouTube and on FaceBook: http://www.youtube.com/user/charliejames1975

You could probably do something similar, but geared towards the powerlifting audience.

I also think social media and forum interaction would be your best bet.

With social media, create yourself a facebook page and twitter pages. If you use wordpress, you can automatically set up your posts/blog posts to be distributed to these 2 sites, and also other sites if you wish, using ping.fm (is free). Saves you alot of time, and you only need to setup 1 site.

Make sure you tell all your friends about it on facebook so they add your page, and hopefully their friends will add you too etc.

With regards to YouTube, perhaps you can create several video's, such as your daily/weekly routine for powerlifting, products you recommend, a running video diary of your week/month so far etc. You could build a list of followers on youtube looking for more information on training and lifting techniques, plus always mention your objective in the video (watch my journey to the powerlifting comp), so people are more inclined to stay tuned.

Thirdly, I would join the leading discussion boards for weight training, body building etc, and become an active member. Remember to include your site in your signature, something like 'Watch My Journey To The Powerlifting World Next Year!', and also post on the introductions page about you, why you are setting out to do this, and what past experiences you have in this sport etc.

Thanks Guys! I will start the project these days and I will let you know!
Anyway, if you have some other ideas, I will happily listen to them.
