How would you monetize this traffic

Hi,

I run a startup media company in the sports space.

We have a very passionate engaged audience on social media that grows at a good rate (~15k on twitter, 12K on IG currently), and just crossing 1000 newsletter subscribers (45% open rate).

Our website SEO is not great but we get good organic traffic on articles from social media.

We've done merch, run ads on our site, and have a few affiliate offers.

I'm looking for any additional ideas on how to better monetize this growing audience or any good investments (running ads for the newsletter, investing in SEO, etc) that you'd recommend to take us to the next level.

Since you're looking to monetize your audience instead of looking for advice on how to grow it, I suggest you create your own products.

You know your audience better than anybody else.

You know what content they love to consume.

They tell you how to sell to them based on their content consumption habits.

Pay attention to the data, whether you're on Twitter or Instagram or have your own blog.

The next step is to use your newsletter subscriber base to sell.

Use visitor behavior data to guide you on which types of products you should offer your community.

It will be trial and error initially, but as the old saying goes, "The money is in the list."

Use the list well and use it the right way by creating a buyer list with a one-dollar offer.

Offer your first product for a dollar; when people order, they have to sign up for another list.

That is your "pure buyers list."

If you play your cards right, you can get those people to buy from you repeatedly over the lifetime of their subscription to that list.

That's why you need to make each update count.

Why sell your own products?

First, you get to craft products that directly address the needs of your fanbase.

Second, you are in control over the whole process.

You control the sales page and process, product quality, and customer support.

That's a lot of control compared to affiliate marketing, where you hope that the page you're sending your hard-earned traffic to will convert your visitors.

If it does convert, you hope again that you won't be settling for cents on a dollar.

All these concerns go away when you sell your own products using your own sales page and sales process.
