Okay so I want to rank one of my websites, but this one unlike the ones I have done in structure. It is going to be along the lines of a real estate website for people to search for homes...basically the homepage is going to be limited in space due to the home search options. (ex: price range, bedrooms, bathrooms)

So my issue is that I usually like to design my websites with articles I write on the homepage targeting these certain keywords right in the middle of the page.

Basically my websites have a banner on top..a left and right sidebar..and a footer. Articles go in the exact middle.

If I put my keyword rich articles on different pages, will they rank higher than the homepage? I need the homepage to rank and I am used to putting the articles right on the homepage.

    Any input would be helpful.

Put your content anywhere but create a lot of backlinks pointing to your homepage, or spin those articles, submit them in article directory with resource box pointing to your homepage... that should do the trick.

    Home Page:
The best way to rank is to have a lot of links pointing to both your home page and, perhaps most importantly, to your inner pages. It amazes me sometimes at how understated this simple seo step is overlooked sooo often. People want to blast the crap outta the home page when, in fact, you do better by linking to your inner pages. Sorry for the little rant, but yeah, thats my opinion.

No don't apologize, I agree with you due to the fact I read about inner linking a lot, but my grey hat strategy of just optimizing the homepage has been working, so I have to stick to what is working.

Maybe I will try inner link building with this new website and let everyone know how it works out compared to the amount of work I did on my other websites.
