My boss has offered me a bonus if I can get a news article about my company off the first page by 8/23 (it is 8/19). The keyword is my company's name.

The news article is currently ranked 8th. I need it at least 11th. (If I can get it to the third page I would make more.

Here were my initial thought was to hire numerous companies to Xrummer results 9-20. I have never used xrummer before sadly... would this work?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So let me get this right.... theres an article about your company and its ranked on 1st page? And you want it to go down to the third page??

Contact the person that published it and ask them to remove....

Or I'm not even sure if this is possible but link buil for all of the sites on the 2nd and 3rd page so your rankings plummet.

I've actually had to do this before.

The scenario was somebody had written a negative review about the company that hired me to do exactly what you're looking to do for them. The negative review was on the first page, and they needed it moved off the first page. It too was also the company's name plus the word "reviews".

I got it moved down by simply writing my own POSITIVE review articles and submitting them to high PR article directories and then backlinking to those articles (just for some extra link juice).

I got a bonus because not only did I move the negative review off the first page, but now, there were new articles on the first page that were actually POSITIVE.

If the keyword is the name of your company, and the company isn't huge, it should be a breeze to write some keyword laden (company name laden) articles and submit them to article directories and have them rank high in the SERPs.

EDIT: I also made three videos to submit to YouTube. The videos were simply pictures in .avi format (like a slideshow) and the names of the videos were "company name reviews" "company name information" etc.

They ranked super high as well. You only need to move your article 3 spots, that's nothing. I got mine off the first page and I had to move it 8 spots.

That is pretty much correct. I need a news article to drop down a minimum of 2 spots in about 4 days.

I work for the type of guy who wants it done right now at any cost, pretty much every seo's nightmare client. The article is not really degrading to our company at all, so his obsession with it is beyond me.

Iwas just wondering if it could be possible in only 4 days. Any tactics would be a welcomed insight.

Perfect! I had actually already just done this, submitted 4 articles on PRweb with premium packages (maybe overkill I know) set to publish tomorrow. I figured/hoped this would be enough, but you have just boosted my confidence that it was the correct decision.

I guess will keep doing this with free PR distributors in an attempt to get it to the third page. Any suggestions on free distributors?

Put some ezine articles up there as well as they can rank high too.

And then backlink all your articles, submit their RSS feeds and bookmark them.

Basic SEO but do it on steroids.

For what it is worth, we have done a similar thing to what was mentioned above about adding positive reviews that outrank the negative review, pushing the negative one down. It is especially effective if the positive reviews are on some other site than the company site, although this is not strictly necessary. The more slots on page one that you control, the harder it is for any of this type of mischief to ever occur. We have a policy of attempting to gain total control of page one to prevent both competition and mischief. If you try to do this instead of just go after position #1 only, you will have a much better business model.
