    Hi guys:

I need to buy 150 domains for a network I'm setting up. I have 150 C-classes and now I need the domains.

    I was thinking about:
    - 50% with Godaddy, private registration.
    - 50% with 1&1 (private registration is free over there).
    - Register ~10 domains each day (so, 7-8 days for the whole process), so the registration date is not a big footprint.

Can you give me your opinions and ideas? I'm not a paranoid freak, who thinks that I have to use 150 domain registrants, with 150 fake names... cause Google is watching me real time with it's satellites... :loco:

But any idea/tip would help. Like recommended registrants, if I should use fake names or private registration, etc.

Thanks, in advance, for your help :)

I would recommend NameCheap. For each domain you get a free WHOIS privacy for the first year.
Great service, competitive pricing and I love the simplicity of the control panel.
You get a small discount if you have 50+ domains with them ;)

namecheap are really good they are old too - 2000 i think -

im looking for a load too - be careful when they say 2.99 for first year like they all do - cos the second yr is regular price -

also for some reason 1&1 think in the uk we wont notic if they charge us £8.99 - sterling instead of dollars -- which is like $15 - so read the fine print -

but yeh i reckon spreading them out is always a good idea you dont want too many eggs in one basket -; )

what im looking for is a cheap first and second year discount for 60 or so domains -

i buy domains at namecheap with whois protection.
    Namecheap whois guard 1,58/yr

Once you have 50 or more domains with Namecheap, you can contact them and request a permanent discount on all future domain registrations.

Godaddy is too expensive..They charge few bucks only on first year.
If you try to transfer you will throw money out of window.
Godaddy whois protection is very expensive too.

Guys: thanks A LOT for your tips. I can see NameCheap is your choice.
Namecheap is $9.98 + $2.88 for the Whois protection.

@Anubis1980: Do you have an idea of how much is the discount I can get after the 50 first domains.

Oh, and what about Godaddy coupons? every year, when I have to renew, I go to a forum, grab a coupon and get a good discount.

    Again, thanks 4d answers.

It's something like $8.81 for domains and $1 for WHOIS protection.

Create an account. Contact the live support. Tell them you're going to spend a lot of money.
They will activate the discount for you. After that purchase 50 domains ;)

I got them at $1/month from a VPS company. I was going to save it for myself, but I think I "own" it to the forum. I'll update this thread when I make it public (don't worry, I will).

Ok, so this is what I have (I have spoken with the sales reps)

    NameCheap:
    $9.98 + $1.58 (Whois) = ~$11,6
If I purchase more than 50 domains:
    $9.10 + $99 = ~$10.10

    Netfirms:
$7.99 first year, $11,99 renewal. Free privacy.

    1and1:
$4.99 first year, $8.99 renewal. Free privacy.

How is Internet.bs? They look ooooold as sh**. I talked to a representative and he told me that privace is free and renewal is $8.35 (really cheap!)

Why do you think 1&1 is terrible? I would love your feedback.
I have like 4 domains with them and I had some minor problems (the billed me a domain that I didn't have and I had to contact support so the could remove it from my panel).

I just bought 12 domains from namecheap. All .coms and .nets.

You can do a mass domain check/buy with them, then add a discount to all of them in 1 go to get about $1 off (I used "NC2011" but this might have changed now it feb).

Never done over 50, but theyre very easy to use. Can mass set them all to your nameserver as well, but I take it all your would be different.

Talk to them on live chat and see what they can do.

1and1 looks like a winner. You can find coupons for Netfirms to bring the price down to $4.99 per domain, but they get you during renewal time.
