    So...

Over the years we have seen loads of SEO methods come and go. When I first started in this game, you could rank with blog comment spam. Then one day, Google were onto us and devalued that.

Next, web 2.0's were a thing. Now they are pretty much dead just like blog comments.

Then we had SAPE, link buying networks, ink rings/circles/pyramids/wheels, social shares, PBN's, other shite...

But now as platforms like HuffPo and Forbes start to open their doors to more and more people, the prices of these things has started to fall. They are pretty much available to everyone...

One person pointed out to me tonight a Fiverr seller doing HuffPo links for $30, who claims to have these indexed with follow links so they are not contributor posts by the look of things.

How the fuck will Google combat this? It's not like they have ever lied down and let things lie... They must do something or it goes against what they have done historically...

What do you think is the next algorithm to combat this?

    Whatever...

It's not that unrealistic to see these links selling for fuck all as supply outstrips demand. Lets be honest, every third worlder and his dog is trying to get a HuffPo journalist account.

I bet they are available for less than $100 within a year.

That certainly is a good point. I honestly have no idea about what they could do. If I was in charge of the algorithms personally, I would possibly value social signals more because I do believe that's a good way to see how useful a website is, but then you could just as easily manipulate the signals. There is also the possibility to value links from sites like Huff that have thousands of articles on unrelated things (More than they do now), as well as possibly just dropping down Guest Post's usefulness altogether.

Summary: I don't know, what can they really do?

Google will never ever implement social signals in algorithm simply because they have no control over it, they don't own facebook or twitter, and it's WAY easier to manipulate.
And I doubt company like facebook would hand data to google like that.

The better question is who would be idiotic enough to tell Google you can get links from HuffPo for $30 instead of milking it for themselves?

Start grinding, quit revealing methods for Google to combat on a public forum.

Expect they'll continue to laugh at 'blackhats' hurting them for peanuts when they're making $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, I didn't think pbns were still much of a thing until seeing the marketplace here lol.
Most affiliate type sites would still struggle to even roi on huffpo type links for $100, they aren't really that powerful.

    I'm not a believer in PBN's...

Do people really not believe Google knows when a domain expires and changes hands?

You think who is protection will help you? Imagine if Google was an ISP and they had direct access to the Who is database.... oh wait.

They are a lot of effort to build, and when you translate that into time sure guest posts are the way to go?

I know @t0mmy has been preaching this, I'm just surprised more people havn't caught on.

I know of a two guys who's been killing it on the front page for (city) criminal attorney and in the east coast at a very populated city. The keyword itself is not high volume but all these firms want to flex their muscle for this keyword and want front page. I also know a competitor of these guys who goes out of his way to take down local listings vis mapmaker, he snitches to google about PBNS (not sure how) and these 2 guys who rank on first page are untouchable due to their 5 PBNs they own. Each domain sold around 3-6k and they are using all sorts of tricks. One funny thing, i seen one of his PBN where he had fake name and then created backlinks to dating/meeting sites..."hi I'm Dave, I have a strong passion for FRUITS but I also love to blog for criminal attorneys." It looks so cheesy but he's outranking guys who are spending 5k a month on justia, nolo, martindale, lawyers.com, etc...so yea 3 years and counting with rarely any google dances.

I got a Huffington do-follow and it's indexed pretty quickly at 50$ rate . Honestly , I didn't see any SEO benefits from it actually .

Google doesn't have a problem with PBNs, they even said it was okay. Ziff Davis operates a huge PBN, and is open about everything and that hasn't hurt themselves.

I never said they have a problem with it, I said it's not worth the effort.
